I was seen at Springfield Hospital by Dr Hwyel Jones pre-op for an Arthroscopy. I was really impressed by his friendly and informative approach. He immediately put me at ease. I felt briefed about the procedure and what I should do post-op.

He was very honest about how much this knee replacement op would hurt (and it does) and about how long it would all take. He made me laugh at a time when I was scared, and pushed me afterward to do physio I didn't think I could do. I had total confidence in him - he's wonderful.

I first met Dr Hywel Jones on the day of my procedure, he is instantly likeable and made me feel very relaxed and at ease. He thoroughly explained the procedure and took away any of my fears. I went into surgery knowing I was in complete safe hands with himself and Simon Smith and came round with no side effects. They really are a brilliant team. Any patient receiving care from him is very lucky and if I ever needed a GA again I would definitely hope to have Dr Jones and one of his G&T's!

I was very worried about having another knee operation after an initial one that had not worked but meeting Dr Jones prior to admission put my mind at rest. On the day he made me feel that I would be looked after very well, which of course I was, and was made to feel very relaxed after the operation and he popped in to see me later which was very nice. Would totally recommend Dr Jones and would definitely ask for him again in the future.

I’ve not had great experiences with anaesthetic in the past so this scared me even more than the operation. Mr Jones was amazing from start to finish reassuring me that I will be fine with him and I was within seconds I was asleep I didn’t know anything else ( the last time I felt I was loosing the use of my legs before I went to sleep ) . After even though I was told to start with about this I couldn’t swallow due to the local put in my nose that then runs down your throat and I was in a lot of pain Mr Jones calmed me down and sprayed more local pain killer up my nose which really helped. I really hope if I was ever to need a general anaesthetic again that I would get someone as good as him . Mr Jones seems to genuinely love his job and patients which is wonderful to see, thank you so much for my trust to be back in going to sleep .
