I had a total hysterectomy on 17/10/22 at the Ipswich Nuffield Hospital. Dr Hugo Boyce was the anaesthetist for the operation. He was very clear and showed care for my well-being during my procedure and after my operation. I would recommend this hospital my anaesthetist and my consultant Mr Barnaby Rufford. Pre care care during and care after my operation in recovery and on the ward was very much appreciated.
Doctor was very clear and felt he would be way too talk to if I had any concerns (which luckily I didn’t)
Felt listened to, everything was explained and there were no issues at all. Very reassuring
I remember lying on my front with my arms around the pillow and my head turned to the side due to the oxygen mask. Next I remember the mask being removed and being mildly surprised that I was lying on my back. I felt relaxed and alert. Over the next few hours, I felt no ill effects whatsoever.
The only reason for not giving 5 stars is my reluctance to do so on a single experience.
Dr Boyce has a great bedside manner, and is happy to talk through all aspects of anaesthesia. He is very reassuring and thorough. This isn't the 1st time our paths have crossed at the Nuffield in Ipswich. I'd be more than happy to be under his care in tge future.
