Dr George Bostock

I have been fortunate to have George look after me twice. He is professional, caring and after my first surgery had the forethought to make notes to assist with my second surgery to make things better for me and reduce my post surgical pain. When I saw George walk into my room before my second surgery I was instantly at ease as I knew that I was in safe hands after my first experience with him.

From the moment I met Dr Bostock pre surgery, he was professional with a friendly approach and made me feel reassured, not that I was at all worried! Later that day I was taken to the Anaesthetic Room where Dr Bostock and his team were waiting for me. I was so impressed with their team working lead by Dr Bostock, with each one introducing themselves to me before explaining the procedure they were about to complete. There was a very slight hiccup with a reading on the monitor but Dr Bostock swiftly stepped in and all was well. I remember waking up during the operation and finding myself (or my head) in a blue tent and I was keen to see what was going on but I was soon put to sleep again! I later woke up in the Recovery Room and again a team were there to support me in recovering from the anaesthetic. Strangely, all in all, it was a fabulous experience and I kept saying so! I myself am a team player so appreciated seeing Dr Bostock's Team in action. At all times I felt confident, relaxed, fully cared for and in the safe hands of a friendly but professional team lead by Dr Bostock - Thank you to everyone and very well done xx

Dr Bostock (‘George’ ) came to see me within an hour of my admission to hospital to introduce himself and to clearly explain the anaesthetising process. He was friendly, reassuring and professional throughout and readily answered any questions I had. When it came to the time for my op, George was a ‘friendly’ face and his calm demeanour and clear instructions to receive a spinal anaesthetic were easily taken on board. This procedure was more difficult than I first anticipated as he was not able to immediately locate the correct site for the anaesthetic. He remained calm and confidently talked me through alternative positions to enable a successful and comfortable anaesthesia. His empathy and reassurance throughout this procedure gave me absolutely no cause for alarm or panic, as I knew I was in very safe hands. George visited me a couple of hours after my op to monitor progress and give reassurance. He visited me again the following day. All in all, my knee replacement operation went smoothly and successfully. Dr George Bostock was one of a very impressive team of professionals looking after me and I am very grateful for the excellent service I received.

Bostock had great bedside manner, made me feel at ease the whole time despite feeling nervous. Most Importantly explained each step extremely well, again making me feel at ease and confident in his ability.

He explained everything clearly as we went along, so I understood any possible complications. I felt safe at all times - he was a friendly face at a worrying time and I can't think of anything else he could have done to make my operation easier.

Dr Bostock was very friendly and approachable and had a demeanour that put me at as much ease as I could have been, given I was quite nervous. He listened to my concerns and clearly articulated what would happen and how things would feel. And told me well what I needed to know. His confidence and calmness radiated to me and gave me trust in what he was doing. And I appreciated how he spoke. He was clear with instructions and in telling me what was happening and how it should feel. And was gentle in his actions. Honestly I don’t think I have anything more to say on how he could improve. It was exactly what I needed. Just keep on giving out that friendly confidence as it’s infectious

Dr George Bostock is one of the best doctors I have ever been under the care of. He is a consummate professional, yet extremely approachable and he definitely listens and takes on board what is discussed. I felt I could trust him with my life, and have done so now on two occasions, and would do so again if necessary. He is one of the most kind and caring doctors I’ve ever met and has a very reassuring, calm, yet confident way with him. It also helps no end, when you’re having major surgery and understandably feeling anxious, that he has the natural ability to make you feel relaxed and comfortable with easy conversation and general chitchat. This played a huge part in the process for me as I felt like I was chatting with an old friend and not worrying about my operation. George is a shining star in the medical profession and is simply the best, as far as I am concerned, and I know that he is held in extremely high regard amongst all his colleagues at the hospital. My daughter is NHS staff and says how everyone loves working alongside George. No one has anything but praise for this wonderful person. If only there were more doctors like George - he is a true legend in his own right.

No suggestions, George was amazing he made me very comfortable about the process and explained everything he was doing.

This doctor made my c section experience a million percent better than my previous. He made me feel at ease and comfortable. I felt I could ask any questions. He also checked on my partner as he's a little squeamish. Great Dr.
