Was first seen by Dr Fox when referred from Oldham upon finding I had irregular heart rhythms. I must add I have not been the simplest of cases . Dr Fox immediately diagnosed I had VT, booked me in for angiogram & MRI which shown the plumbing was ok, but the problem was with the extra beats. He promptly booked me in for Ablation, which had to be stopped as I was in so much back pain. This did not work and I was told it would have to be done again. I had a review in the December 2015 where Dr Fox said he would like to do the ablation again, I was as you can imagine reluctant to go through this again, the plan was to, but Dr Fox assured me it would be done under Anesthetic within the next 3 months. Unfortunately within the next 3 months I was admitted to hospital with Pneumonia. I went in to Peri arrest and had to be intubated and put into coma, where I contracted sepsis, influenza and had heart attack. I had to be treated at Oldham Hospital where Dr Khan contacted Dr Fox to inform him what had happened, requesting and when I was well enough to be transferred was to go to Wythenshaw to be treated by Dr Fox. My heart was only functioning at 35% as the infections had compromised my heart with me having VT. Dr Fox came to see me each day I was in, ordering regular scans. The true function of my heart was masked with the VT,s. I had another MRI scan, tried different medication which did not work. Then in January 2017 had another Ablation this was nearly 12 months on from the coma. This was rather complicated as I had to be shocked 3 times. Results proved this had been a success, just been to see Dr Fox 04/07/2017 and was very pleased to hear that my heart was functioning between 43 - 50%. I have got to say that Dr Fox is very thorough with his examination and has excellent diagnostic skills. His manner is such that he clearly explains the conditions and the treatments that are necessary before doing any invasive procedures. The last year I must admit I have been rather anxious to have the ablation and MRI scan as I was afraid of the outcome, but I have had my mind put at ease by Dr Fox explaining that my heart needs time to heal. The work that he does is very intricate and time consuming but I trust that he has all his patients best interest at heart (no pun intended). He takes great pride in his work and will not be beaten when faced with a challenge such as I was. To summarise, we are very honoured and fortunate to have Dr Fox within our National Health service. He is dedicated , patient, and understanding. Encourages you to ask questions and knows exactly where he is regarding treatment, procedures required and progress. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr Fox to anyone at all. His skill and expertise is second to none.

Dr Fox is my hero! David has had a lot of patience with me through what has been a very tough and worrying year for me with Atrial Flutter/Tachycardia. He has given support and helped to put me on the urgent list twice as AF was affecting my life considerably. Dr Fox is a very calm man which is perfect for somebody like me who is naturally a worrier. It also helps when everybody around you speaks so highly of him, he is the main man! I can never thank him enough for fixing my broken heart. Carmel x
