Following my consultation with Dr McCann earlier today I would like to compliment the service and care I received today. I had a very positive experience, from arrival, recording of observations and the consultation with Dr McCann. I was given time to talk, explore my condition, medication and my concerns. At every stage of the consultation things were explained clearly and concisely any concerns were listened to and examined in partnership with myself. Options for ongoing treatment/investigation were explored in full and supported with explanations and rationale. At each stage I was treated with respect and felt included in my care and the decisions made Thank you.

Dr McCann took the time to listen and review trends in pathology. I didn't have to wait to see her and a breathing test was done on the day which saved an extra trip to the hospital. Since my experience was an excellent one, I really don't think that anything could have been done better.

At 40 i thought my asthma was well controlled but needed an inhaler everywhere I went , I even had a special pocket made for salbutamol inhaler into my triathlon suit as I coundnt get through a race without a chuff . I became ill, chest infection went to pneumonia and hence met Dr McCann. Not only did she get me better but completely changed my life. Now as a paramedic I should know better, but she nailed down my asthma was not controlled and put me on a new drug. For five years now I have not needed a salbutamol I don't even have an in date one now. I feel fitter now at 45 than ever in my life. My last lung function was amazing . Just wish I'd had this Doc many years ago . Her care was amazing. Thank you Dr McCann!!!!!!!!

Dr. McCann invests time and effort into understanding her patients, and has a strong ability to make her patients feel comfortable with her. Her clinical reasoning is excellent, and she flags up any worrying test results or conditions with patients outside of respiratory medicine, showing an empathetic and holistic approach to patient care.

I have nothing but the utmost admiration and respect for Dr McCann. I was admitted to Royal Preston Hospital a year ago and as a patient on MAU was seen by Dr McCann who did not agree with my initial diagnosis and fought to ensure that I got the appropriate level of care . I was eventually moved to critical care thanks to her persistence where I eventually made a full recovery. Dr McCann’s intervention was instrumental in me recovering from a potentially life threatening condition and I can never thank her enough.
