The appointment was on time, the Doctor was easy to get on with and had a friendly pleasant manner, after a few questions with regards to my medical history and my general background he gave me a straight forward explanation and diagnosis of my skin condition - treatment was given and the follow up plan was discussed. In my view the appointment with the doctor met my expectations very well.

I saved to get a private appointment for a long term skin condition which has been affecting my quality of life. I have had many previous NHS appointments and am on the waiting list to see a dermatologist at the hospital. However, I have been on the list for a long time and am likely to be on it for a lot longer. No one seems to know exactly what the condition is or how to get rid of it. What I was hoping for from this appointment was some concrete answers which I could then go back to my GP with. I can't afford multiple private appointments. I found Dr. Affleck to have a good bedside manner and he was sympathetic to my condition. The steroid cream he prescribed has cleared up some the really inflammed areas of skin but I still have new itchy spots appearing and feel I am no further forwards as to knowing why. Ultimately I am disappointed I did not get the answers I wanted, but I understand that it may not have been possible for any Dr. to give me this from one appointment.
