I arrived at Perth Royal A&E with a high risk injury, was called into triage in 20 minutes, was seen by an Advanced Nurse Practitioner within another 20 minutes, sent to x-ray and treated amazingly well and with genuine concern. Following paper stitches and a tetanus I was allowed to go home in a total of 1 hour and 20 minutes. I cannot thank the A&E staff enough for their care and efficiency.
My previous visit to Forth Valley Royal A&E resulted in a 9 hour wait to then be told there would be a further 17 hour wait. Well done Tayside!!
Whilst the high level of professionalism in care provided at Perth Royal Infirmary is beyond question, someone needs to seriously investigate the department that answers phones to enquirers. Without exception, over the course of 4 or 5 calls, I have found the persons answering the phone to be obstructive, unconfident to the point of actually being defensive and certainly unhelpful. A culture of dourness and lack of desire to help within the department exudes through to the caller.
An exercise in mystery calling from the perspective of a caller whose question is not 100% straightforward ( eg calling over a public holiday, or not knowing the exact name of the department they require to speak to) is highly recommended. This is the patient interface of a bright star in the local health service. They are letting you down!
Professional and helpful care. Dr Afflect dealt with my problem expertly and explained well.
Was dreading going into hospital for a full hip replacement. Staff could not have been anymore helpful and kind. Was in for 2 days Feb 2019. Really had no complaints whatsoever.
I had a hysteroscopy, D & C and multi-polyp removal at the gynae unit under the care of Dr. El-Miligy. Superb care throughout the whole process. If I had all the money in the world, I could not have received more considerate and professional care from all the medical staff members.
