Clare immediately inspired me with confidence in her ability to look after me and I felt at ease in discussion pertaining to my health: It is evident that Clare is extremely skilled and knowledgeable in/on her profession but it is the soft skills of gaining trust and showing empathy - in which Clare, in my opinion, undoubtedly excels - that helped me on my journey of Radiotherapy.
I liked that we could talk candidly and believe that the only improvement would be to be able to provide the patient with written details of discussions of our meetings; I'm basing this on feeling overwhelmed on certain days of my treatment and whilst Clare was easy to relate to, I found myself recalling aspects of discussion in the evening or even the following morning which may have been useful to have had in written, i.e. recorded, format.
Really great personal service, always available for advise and super helpful whenever I need anything. The only improvement I can think of which individuals have no power over is… If in the event there are delays which seems quite common (up to a couple of hours), for the patient to be able to leave the hospital and come back once the professionals are ready to see them. This could be managed via an sms service or simply by reception calling 5 mins before you will be seen. Apart from that, all fab! Thanks again :))
I cannot thank Clare enough for the support she gave me during my recent Radiotherapy treatment over the past five weeks. Her comforting chats on the treatment as it progressed have me hope that it was going to be a success.
The care I received was second to none. I had gone through, and am still going through a very tough time without the cancer on top, and I have had sympathy, support and straightforward honesty. I know I can contact Clare should I have any worries or questions and my emails are answered promptly.
I would also add that everyone involved has been amazing, true heroes. My needs have been shared by Clare to the team and I cannot fault the experience I have had. There isn't anything I was say that could improve to give greater care because when Clare hasn't been available somebody else has. Not enough praise is given to our health care professionals. I am a hospital phobic, to the point where I cannot even see a sign for a hospital without having palpitations. I am particularly fearful of attending hospital alone. Of course with covid I have had to but everyone, including Clare has really helped me and supported me to make the experience less frightening.
She is trying her best to please patients and meet their needs
