Karen’s professionalism is second to none . She is also a very friendly person who made my mum feel relaxed. My mum felt at ease when Karen was there with us and surgeons discussing my mums condition and a way forward to treat. We would like to thank her for being there. She is a credit to the NHS. Best wishes Chris ( Mrs Elli Savva daughter )

She was very attentive, listening carefully to my concerns and health problems and either answered every question or sought further advice and got back to me as she said she would the next morning. very professional and efficient

Karen is a Cardiac Nurse who dealt with me in the chest pain clinic and arranged for and oversaw my clinical tests. She was very professional and good listener. She kept me informed about the reasons for the tests and the outcomes after they were carried out. Despite not seeing the cardiac consultant personally, I felt that my concerns were taken seriously, that the whole process was very professional and confident in their final diagnosis and recommendations. In a hard pressed NHS I could of hoped for a better service.

Met Karen at the Joint Cardiac Clinic after having a heart attack, she was extremely helpful before and after the meeting with Consultants. Not sure that I took it all in on the day but have since been able to seek help on a couple of occasions where she showed great patience and provided me with knowledgeable advice. I would think not just a excellent nurse but a nice person also.

Profile

I am a Cardiac Specialist Nurse working within the Cardiology department at Ashford and St Peters NHS Foundation Trust. My areas of work include reviewing patients with stable angina in our stable chest pain clinics; out patient review of patients following heart attack and treatment with angioplasty. I also help run the joint cardiac clinics working alongside our Cardiology Consultants and Cardiothoracic Surgeons from both St Georges Hospital and Harefield Hospital.
I qualified as a staff nurse in 1994 and started working in Cardiology in 1997 initially working on CCU as a staff nurse and junior sister. Following this I worked for 9 years as a specialist nurse with the Cardiac risk management team providing cardiac rehabilitation for patients after their heart attack, coronary stents or cardiac surgery.
Cardiology is great place to work, it is a fast developing area of medicine. Our aim is to provide the best care we can; looking after you as individuals from the moment of diagnosis to supporting you whilst you recover. We welcome feedback on your experiences.
