Profile

I have 16 years’ experience working as a mental health nurse and within the last few years as an independent nurse prescriber. During my career, I have worked predominantly within CAMHS services across inpatient and community settings. I have taken great pride in my profession and value working with children, young people and their families. I am currently completing a Masters qualification in Advanced Clinical Practice which has allowed me to develop my nursing skills and knowledge to an advanced level. Within my NHS role, I assess, diagnose and manage children and young people with ADHD including prescribing treatment plans. I always strive towards enhancing patient outcomes in terms of daily living, reaching their full potential and what is important to them.

From my time as Nurse Team Lead and the Clinical Co-Ordinator role and as a result of my openness, honesty, care and compassion, I was nominated in September 2019 for the NHS Chairman’s Award for Leadership. In January 2020, I won the Specialist Children Services Learning for Excellence Award for managing difficult situations and promoting culture and values demonstrating dedication to the NHS. Latterly, in August 2022, I received a nomination for a Scottish Health Award for providing the highest most quality care towards our children and young people who come through our service and demonstrating caring and compassionate behaviours towards both patients and staff.
