Some feedback, we did feel there was a difference in care between room 1a and 3, we were given target sats of 91 to 95 on oxygen but regularly she was left to saturate in mid 80’s without intervention around 30 mins with people just silencing the alarm rather than acting on it. We feel this led back to a deterioration and back on to vapotherm. We appreciate it is very busy but think that listening to parents concerns a little more would make a huge difference but know that it is hard with so many babies to look after. Overal the care has been incredible and we are so so thankful.

Great care from staff and support with our child. Rooming in was essential for establishing a breastfeeding routine that suited us all and we are very lucky to have been given that opportunity. Some feedback: - parents only area is not always kept as parents only, which could be difficult for parents having tough days - there seemed to be a big difference in the way babies were cared for between room 1a and 3. On 1a a desaturation would be dealt with quickly but as soon as we went to room 3 our child would sit in the 80s desaturating for 10-20 minutes some times before anyone would come and intervene. We feel this played a part in our child regressing back onto vapotherm less than a week after moving to room 3. It was also distressing to be a parent watching your child struggling without intervention.

I was under the care of Mandy Moawad Consultant Vascular Surgeon. He operated on me last December and I had a follow up appointment with him 5th March. I found him, and other members of staff to be both very professional and friendly. At no time was I kept waiting, the hospital was clean, directions clear and I would highly recommend the facilities. Car parking was easy despite the building of the new car park!

Review of Dietetics - St Peters written by a carer
5th March 2020

The care we have been given by Kirsty Sheridan has been world class. She has excellent knowledge and provided us with solutions to any problems that we had. Not only was she an expert in knowledge, she was also kind and compassionate and made such a positive difference to our life. Kirsty was always prompt in answering queries by phone and email as well as being available for meeting in person. In comparison to other hospitals, the Dietitians at St Peter's hospital have been impressive, providing outstanding care.
