Dr.Lambe: I had eyelid surgery with Dr.Lambe who saw me for all my appointments before, on the day and afterwards. He also personally replied to my e-mails, always very promptly which was a nice personal touch and he was very reassuring in his replies, that if I had anything else at all I wasn't sure about not to hesitate to get in touch. He is a really lovely person he has a great sense of humour and is very easy to talk to. He made me feel completely at ease and I wasn't made to feel like just another patient. He was amazing he really was and I knew he had my best interests at heart and that was so reassuring. His secretary Jane who was really lovely and made me feel like I I felt like I knew her before I met her. I found all the hospital staff lovely from reception through to surgery each step of the way. Parking on site was easy and took a minute to find a spot so that was fab. I had no waiting to do for consultation or on the day of surgery I was clearly informed every step of the way and pointed in the right direction. I had a local anaesthetic and walked into theatre and back out all within an hour. I was given a small room when I arrived for the surgery to leave my personal belongings which was locked when I went into surgery, it had a bed and a chair and a theatre gown in there and afterwards I went back in and had a cup of tea and told by the nurse I could stay as long as I needed to while my husband came to pick me up. There is a restaurant on site past the main reception what you or your visitors are welcome to use. Overall it was a very pleasant experience and my results are unbelievable.. wow!

Never had to wait long to see Consultant pre & post Operatively. However the pre medical clinic was shocking I was not called as arranged when I arrived was my pre operative appointment that didn’t have my notes, so it was not clear what was required, the nurse did take me to speak to the admissions department who where very dismissive that the nurse had not called to take my history and medications. When she did phone the following day she was unsure if I needed to stop one medication and would call me back which she didn’t I spoke to my GP instead for reassure. The theatre staff and post care team were lovely.

Day surgery for hernia: visited at 0800 by surgeon & anaesthetist who told me I was second on list and would not have long to wait. Was then left waiting in room with no info until 1100 when I was given a glass of water to drink and taken down to surgery at around 1115. Also given no info about post-op care for wound (though good info on medication).

I am told I always complain, however from the pre-op assessment to discharge there is absolutely nothing I could complain about. Excellent care and superb facility.

After the brilliant care I received from the surgery team - the Nursing staff were equally brilliant. They made sure I was looked after throughout my stay and also made sure my wife was made to feel comfortable whilst she visited inc getting her drinks when she wanted one. I was lucky and the ward I was on only had myself on for the night so I even had a good chat with a couple of nurses as I was coming to which helped because I could describe how I was feeling and they could answer any questions I had. Even though I was an NHS patient I felt like I got the private patient treatment from the moment I stepped in to the hospital in the morning.

All staff were amazing during my staff to have gallbladder removed. From the minute I stepped into the building to the moment I left they went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and calm. I can not thank the nurses enough for everything they did for me, especially the after care. Thank you again for all the hard you you all do.
