No information on waiting time not kept updated on what was going on. While having a canula put in 3 other nurses came in and started to argue while one was taking my blood

I couldn’t have asked for better care and professionalism. I was unexpectedly kept in after complications in surgery and had 2 departments looking after me. The staff on CCU did their upmost to look after my surgery wound alongside the observations I had to have on my heart. Even your cleaning staff, domestic and catering staff were friendly. Only thing I could have had is a better care plan in how to look after my wound from the surgical team but my daughter is a nurse and has guided and looked after me through this.

Suggested improvements
As I said above, a better care plan going forward with looking after my OPEN wound would have been a good idea, I didn’t receive one. Even the HOT clinic didn’t want to know unless I had a problem. However, my GP surgery, have been marvellous, ordering in surgical packs so that my daughter and husband can continue to care for the wound in a surgical field.

Review of Bluebell Ward A

I had amazing care. I was kept informed and my treatments and results were quickly undertaken and I was informed of the outcomes. I have had over 20 hospital stays over the years, and this was my best experience ever.

Suggested improvements
Nothing, my care was amazing.

Review of Fracture Prevention / Osteoporosis Clinic
25th March 2024

Hi, I have come to the hospital with my husband at A&E because he had a broken calcaneus. We do not mention that the waiting time is ridiculous and without any painkiller given for 12 hours!!! We came for the check up and the first one was ok. The nurse supposed to book us for the following week, for the second check up. When we arrived no booking was made, but luckily for us, the same nurse was working and she remembered us, so after explaining to the doctor, we managed to get seen on the day. The third appointment I have changed over the phone, due to me not being able to have a day off from work! The person I spoke to confirmed the appointment for the following week, 25/03/2024. Surprise surprise! We arrive at the hospital and no appointment shown in the system! So we came for nothing! I have explained what happened but it was fully booked and got an appointment for a different day on the week! I really hope that my comment will be read and the booking system will be improved/ staff trained. Thank you

Review of Ambulatory Care Unit

From the moment I arrived at the hospital the care I received was exemplary. The nursing staff (Eileen and Jean) and the main doctor (Helen) were fantastic. My care was efficient and well managed by all who assisted me. Thanks very much

I was sent an appointment send me to the wrong ward.

Suggested improvements
Nurses need to learn to communicate properly in English. Better communication overall needed. Instead of texting why not phone patients to advise them of appointment times & location.
