I've never been treated so bad got to you 12 midday still there 9.30 evening ask for nebulizer 4 times as could not get breath had 2 lots blood done one showed low for heart my sister was with me the whole time we had been waiting so long she needed bit fresh air but was told no by so called security they was so disgusting didn't want let her in wait out side then question a lady that was there who was waiting for doctor if she was telling the truth because she was talking to another couple they asked reception if she was lieing I wasn't going to let my sister who is 70yrs old outside on own that time of night so I left without getting help

Sort priority out and definitely get rid of them security he even radio another massive so called security bloke who was enormous to come in to get rid of us all that was so disgusting they bullied ill patients that can't be right

I had to stay for 8 hours And all they did was feel my tummy and gave no medicine or did anything about my pain

Was taken ill in a shop so staff called ambulance, the paramedics doctors and nurses were all professional and helpful after hearing all complaints on news I found it wasn't like that all, I didn't wait long for ambulance or bed and everyone was very helpful and attentive and reassuring

I waited 16 hours for the first visit to the doctor

Is completely useless first going to the different any department and wait for 4/5 hours then come to the second any department they say they don’t have any documentation form the other side and with her for mor then 12/15 hours. I’m completely disappointed about the service . Not only me all of the people were present there the were telling bad about the hospital.

Good Care. Didn’t see a doctor. Daughter asked for info from a Dr when collecting me, who was very helpful.

Suggested improvements
Would have liked a drink of water, but no cups available. Was very cold in night, nurse got me blankets, but would have been better to have them to begin with. Would have liked treatment for constipation, but discharged to GP, blockage still not resolved.

I was in severe pain no pain killers was given I had to keep chasing the nurses to get update waiting time was 6hr 30 minutes I waited 13 hours before I was seen. I was told surgical team need to see me therefore I need to stay nill by mouth I felt really faint and dizzy on top of all the pain I was going through because I couldn’t eat or drink it was a horrific experience

Suggested improvements
Stick to your waiting time and see the patients Offer them painkillers in the meantime Offer them food or drink considering you can see the waiting time Have your vending machines fully stocked Nurses should communicate with patients and keep them posted of waiting time Nurses can be compassionate and understanding of the pain and just few kind words won’t hurt it felt like they don’t care

The treatment was good but improvement and upgrade of general care and not individual staff performances desirable. Care of patients must be team performance of excellence.

Although I spent 15 hours in a&e I was seen to very quickly and treated with friendly care.

Suggested improvements
More availability to medicines in a&e. The long time I was there was waiting for the right medicines to be made available. One of the sisters tried to discharge me with taking paracetamol for a slipped disc because she wanted the bed for someone else. The rest of the nurses and doctors were great barring her. Unfortunately they kept having to apologise for the long wait times as they have no access to medicines like morphine or tramadol at all. Being an emergency department you would expect them to be able to have some access to strong pain relief in order to see patients in extreme pain quickly and therefore get them home quickly. I was eventually discharged at 1.30am after being there since 10.30am the morning before. And even then I was only discharged with tablets for 24 hours which weren't the right ones but enough to take some of the edge off the pain until my normal gp opened the following morning.

The A&E department was very busy. I got seen and given 5 star service like everyone else. I didn't mind the wait. The staff were super.

I just needed to be checked after anaphylactic shock and it took so long just to be checked and no one saw me for 4 hours and I didn’t see the doctor for over 6 hours.

Suggested improvements
Information about when the waiting times increase. It increased from 3 hours to 4 then 5 and then 6 without being told. People had to constantly ask.
