How does anyone ever get an appointment at this surgery. Told to telephone 8.30am for a morning appoinment and 3pm for an afternoon one but when I ring the phone is constanly engaged. When I finally get through all the appointments are gone!! They are never able to offer appointment bookable in advance. This surgery really shouldn't take on anymore new patients until it is able to offer the care needed to existing patients. Have been trying for a week now to get an appointment without success. They don't seem to realise people have to work and can't hang around hoping they can get an appointment .

My husband needed 2 blood tests, 1 fasting one for the surgery for a rheumatoid arthritis review and 1 for the rheumatology consultant as he is seeing him on the 28th September, after phoning (and waiting ages for a reply) on the 8th September for a blood test with the nurse, we were told there were no appointments until October, over 3 weeks wait, this is not acceptable, we had to get a blood form and go to Hove Poly clinic. The fasting blood test wanted by the surgery is now booked in on the 1st October still 3 weeks away this is after they wrote to him as THEY wanted to see him for a review. Why is there such a wait it really is not good enough, you try to do the right thing and book early for an appointment and it still does not work and it is VERY frustrating, unfortunately he has to have regular blood tests and I can see this is going to be a big problem in the future.

I have never come across such rude reception staff. They don't acknowledge you when you are at the desk even to say they wont be a minute. There is one receptionist in particular I'm sorry I don't know her name she has curly auburn hair who makes you feel you are really putting her out buy visiting the surgery and tuts when you say you are collecting a prescription as this means she has to get up from her chair. If people are visiting the Dr its because they are unwell and possibly very worried about their health. To be treated in this manor is completely unacceptable. I do understand the staff are under pressure but that doesn't excuse rudeness. The Drs are fantastic and I don't mind waiting to see them as they are very good and give you all the time you need. The surgery is in a lovely building and is always very clean and tidy unfortunately its just the receptionists that let the surgery down. Perhaps a course on customer care and dealing sensitively with patients is in order.

The receptionists are in the wrong job. They are rude and sullen and make you feel that you are being a nuisance to them by being there. They keep you waiting and carry on with their paperwork until they feel it is the right time to talk to you. You need to get new receptionists who actually want to engage with the pubic and enjoy working at a doctors surgery. As a first point of contact, they are letting your whole practice down.
