You are "greeted" at the surgery by a computer screen which you are supposed to use to let them know you have arrived. The receptionist will not even look up and acknowledge you. You are then called in to the doctor's room by a loud beep and a written scrolling LED display. Blink and you miss it. What happened to the human touch and actually speaking to a person. All very impersonal and unwelcoming. I got the feeling that nobody cares and that I am wasting their time. Should these people be in the caring profession ?? During the winter months it is impossible to get an appointment even when the doctor is the one requesting that you attend. You have to enter a daily lottery and ring at surgery opening time and hope that there is one appointment left for you. If I ran a business like this, I would have no customers left - diabolical

They couldn't run a piss up in a brewery. The practice manager couldn't give two hoots. They messed up my daughters prescription today, gave her one for the wrong medicine, which has wasted NHS money which is in short supply. My son was booked in for a flu jab (a nose spray at his age). I made the receptionist aware that it was for a toddler, so not an injection and the appointment was made. When he was taken to the appointment the nurse said she wasn't trained in the nose spray and couldn't administer it so we had to make a new appointment. So a complete waste of time and having to take time off work to go to both appointments. Receptionists need to take more care. Having said that there is one shining star at the surgery and the sole reason why I have not changed surgery and that is Doctor Janet Wilson who is amazing and keeps her promises and is approachable and helpful and goes the extra mile.

Response from Woodingdean Medical Centre

We regularly review comments posted on Family and Friends website as well as welcoming both verbal and written communications at the Practice. As the Practice Manager, the experience you have is vitally important to me and we want to meet your needs the very best we can; Since you choose to remain anonymous I am unable to discuss the matter with you on a personal level but if you should wish to contact me in the future then please do so as I would be only too happy to meet with you face to face or discuss this over the telephone.
