I find the doctor I normally see excellent ,calm, approachable, listens and the vast majority of receptionists are friendly and helpful but today i got a real beauty.I had triage on monday and was diagnosed with gout the doctor arranged for some pain killers and said if the pain was still bad to see him in a few days This afternoon I tried to make an appointment for Friday and was told ,by pretty uncaring receptionist that there were no appointments and I would have to ring at 8am on Friday I tried to explain the situation and the fact that a Dr had asked to see me if the pain was still troublesome but it cut no ice "ring on Friday"was the refrain. What is the point of a Dr saying that you should be seen if this happens.I must stress that this is an isolated incident as normally the receptionists at least make an attempt to help you.By and large a good team let down by one person

It is very difficult to get through on the telephone if you need an appointment. They tell you to call at 8.00am but you can be number 50 (or higher)in the queue and when your travelling to work it is impossible to do. They offer appointments that you can book online but you can never get them on the same day so unless you know in advance if you are going to be ill it doesn't really help. The majority of the receptionists are very helpful but there are a few that speak to patients as if they are an inconvenience so if they don't want to help people maybe they shouldn't be a doctors receptionist. If I need an appointment I generally go to the surgery and stand and wait until they open to see if they have any appointments available. I know there are limited appointments available but when you work they should be able to fit you in. They say they are open 8.00-8.00 but when passing on several occasions at night they were locked up at 7.30pm but receptionist was in there sitting in the dark! They could have seen more patients in that last half hour so they should stay open until the correct time. It is also frustrating when you hear them tell people there are no appointments but there are only about 5 people in the waiting room! Where are all the people that are taking the appointments up??

I had a scan on the brain which dr bath arranged for me it came through quickly my doctor rang and told me results I appreciated the fact that he was quite honest about the results. The nurses there are very good and caring about their patients. Most times you can get to see or have a phone appointment with the doctor of your choice, on the morning that you phone. I also found that during my treatment the receptionists that I spoke to were very helpful.

Hi - I have been a patient here for about 25 years - love the new building and all the facilities available - still tough to get an appointment - i managed to get an appointment today with a nurse. I have just has total knee replacement and was having it redressed. Arrived for appointment 10 mins before time but unfortunately the machine is not working and it hasnt for a while - so i had to queue for over 10 mins - a receptionist came out and explained that there was also a reception upstairs for checking in - i pointed to my crutches and she said we have a lift - i really dont think that is patient friendly !!! i was 8 minutes over by the time i managed to check in! Come on Tower Hill get this machine sorted!!!!

Response from Tower Hill Partnership Medical Practice

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate all thoughtful comments to help us maintain and improve services. We apologise for the check in screen being out of action currently. This was affected by the cyber attack some months ago. Although it has been a while, we do hope to resolve the issue eventually with cooperation from the IT department at the CCG. We apologise for any inconvenience to patients. There are two reception desks where you can check in on ground and first floor. Sometimes patients do not realise that you can check in on both floors. The first floor one can be reached by the lift for those unable to climb stairs. In addition we have a patient helper on Mondays and Fridays who is able to help check patients in, point them to services and help with general enquiries.
