I called up and spoke to Harry, who is always fantastic and helpful, I always hope to speak to Harry, as he is (in my opinion) the best receptionist I have ever encountered in any setting, always going above and beyond.
I then had a call from a trainee, who was very cheery and polite and asked alot of questions to try and determine the issue. I then had another call from the duty GP who was also great and helpful. Luckily the issue was not of any concern, although I was advised to call again if it got worse.
The call was about my daughter, who was at school, but had told me the issue which I passed on and it was all sorted without having to take her in, thankfully.
I wanted to arrange to have travel vaccinations. The first receptionist I spoke to insisted I spoke with the travel clinic in Worthing even though I’d already carried out enough research to know that the jabs I needed would be supplied by the NHS. I felt that she wanted to be rid of me. Additionally, following any question I asked, all of which were in an entirely calm, relaxed and friendly manner, the receptionist responded really quite firmly with defensive phrases like “please be patient with me, I’m just trying to help you”. I felt the implication was that I had been rude when nothing could be further from the truth. Perhaps I should think that it’s a shame that these staff are subjected to such abuse that their stock responses become automatically defensive and insistent. However, having done as I was asked I called back later to once again try to make an appointment and I spoke to a different receptionist who was very pleasant, calm and helpful.

I was seen on time for my Health Check and had a very friendly member of staff called Jenni.
Discussed everything I needed to, had blood checked and all my concerns dealt with.

It is often difficult to get to the front of the telephone queue and the advice is to book an appointment on line through the website. I tried that and the website told me to phone the surgery? When I was connected to reception the staff were very helpful, friendly and efficient.
My recent appointment was a follow up call after my asthma review. I missed Lauren’s call so called the surgery to explain why. Lauren called again and she was pleased the advice she gave me had worked so well.
