The tannoy system is effective but it would be useful to back it up with a screen display. For my appointment the call was fine but I did hear some patients called very abruptly without any attempt at courtesy and use of 'please'.
It's not great that when calling on 26th November to make an appointment for a blood test the earliest I could be offered is 11th December. If it turns out that my condition is serious I wonder how much deterioration could take place in that time.

Rowe avenue surgery is under refurbishment with a new room having been built within the waiting room. The tannoy system is still within the new room so we have stopped using it temporarily. We have plans to have this moved this week to the waiting room so hopefully will solve this problem. We apologise for the delay in blood test appoinments this week but one of our Phlebotomists was off sick. She has now returned so we are back to being able to offer full service. Our practise has always been superb and they have helped our family in a caring and professional waybthrough many illnesses including terminal care. We would recommend tbem above all other experiences both here and in other places we have lived. We ard very fortunate to live in the catchment area.

I think the practice is very good, I do have a little problem understanding APPOINTMENTS. To get an appointment with your preferred Doctor i have found it best for me to be at the practice door at 7.45 so that you are first in line. If I'm lucky i could get a late morning or one in the afternoon not a lot of choice, so if you have to book on the day how is the day full up when I'm first through the door!!!!! Sorry I'm having a whinge.
The main reason I'm leaving this revue is that Dr Spencer's on maternity leave and due back in the new year i think. The Doctor you have brought in to cover this period Dr Datta is absolutely fabulous, caring, understanding,my 15 year condition she has got to grips with in months. Dr DATTA is a great asset to your practise and friends of mine have said the same. I just hope you able to extend your practice to keep her, to loose her will be a great loss.

As a registered Patient I get an appointment when I phone, I get my repeat prescriptions on line ,I get a text message to remind me 24 hours before an appointment.
I do not miss my appointment, I am not abusive when speaking with receptionists
I treat them with the respect they deserve
