This is undoubtedly the worst and poorest surgery that I have ever belonged to unfortunately. If you are considering becoming a patient here have second thoughts as there are plenty in the area in Pontnewydd. I would not recommend this practice to anyone as the staff are ignorant, rude and totally inept. The doctors also leave a lot to be desired as one in particular has the bedside manner of a bull terrier. His answer to any thoughts or suggestions you may have about your health is NO you can't have it, so don';t go to him unless you're terminally ill! If you're feeling unwell do not go here!

Receptions should all be replaced! They are uncaring, rude and openly talk about patients. I recently rang for a smear test as mine is 4 years overdue and I've not received any letters. I explained I hadn't had a letter and reluctantly after an argument I was booked an appointment. I rang to check my time was correct I had been given only to be told it wasn't! I was then told when the receptionist asked what the date in my letter was and me having to re explain I didn't have one but was overdue that they would not 're book me for a smear with out a letter! Also had I of turned up to see the nurse without a letter they wouldn't of seen me anyway! Furious I rang surgical screening Wales who couldn't believe I was being refused a smear and told me a letter wasn't needed at all I had the right to a smear without one! Im now moving surgery but if anythibg is wrong or someone in my situation who needs one but is also refused dies its on their hands! Absolutely disgusting! The horrendous woman argued with me she had worked there for 30 years and theyve never allowed someone with out a letter. Awful. The cervical screening Wales team tols me they were going to call the surgery and make a conplaint themselves I hope they did. Unfortunately the team there boss included are friends and complaints are very often ignored. A simple online search will show exactly how this receptionist team are and horrendous doesn't cover it.

Actually I've had terrible experiences with Dr's but Dr Taylor's the first Dr I have felt I can trust. He s sent me for tests and accurately diagnosed several things. I'm closed down and hostile as I've been treated so very badly in the past and I recognise this. He just gets on with it in a professional manner.

Would never recommend this surgery the receptionist are absolutely no help at all walked in at 8.20 for an appointment first thing and was told to come back in an hour bearing in mind there was no appointments made and no one waiting on the waiting area I was very unwell with tonsillitis and left there very upset and cried all the way home and didn’t even get to see a doctor I don’t drive I was too ill to be walking back and forth for the sake of an hour no offer to sit and wait terrible receptionists hope this gets taken into account
