This surgery is very hit and miss. Sometimes the service is great, other times it is distinctly lacking.

I was able to make an appointment with the doctor of my choice within ten days. The doctor discussed the matter thoroughly with me before changing my medication; it was then necessary for me to have an appointment with the practice nurse to have a blood test ten days after changing my medication, I was able to book this test within this time frame. the nurse was extremely efficient and discussed with me the nature of the tests that would be done on my blood sample and advised me when the results would be available. On the day that I was advised the blood test results would be back, I rang the surgery and asked whether my results had come back and whether I could have a copy of them; the receptionist told me the results were back, but as she was new she was not certain about the protocols with regards to releasing that information. She promised to check what the position was and ring me back, this she did and I was able to get my copy of the results from the surgery. All in all I have been very happy with the whole process.

Appalling. Appalling. Impossible to get a convenient appointment. Receptionists unnecessarily rude. Don't register there.

The appointments seem to be at extremes - you can either call at 8am (on the dot otherwise you can't get an appointment) to be seen as an urgent case the same day, or you can call and book a non-urgent appointment but can wait weeks to be seen. If you are unwell and need to see a doctor (not as an emergency), say within the week, there doesn't seem to be this option. With this system it does seem to make the reception staff's flexibility fairly limited.

If you want an appointment you have to call at 8am - everyone has to do this so the line is usually engaged for 10 mins and quite often when you finally get through you have missed out on the available slots. If you call after this time you are offered a routine slot which could be a month away. Not exactly a useful system. No flexibility and attitude seems rigid. I once was 5 minutes late from queuing at reception (I was on time when I arrived) and the receptionist refused to honour the appointment and would not even check with the clinician who the appointment was with - not great! Staff seem friendly enough but you are usually left hovering around reception as no one is actually based at the reception desk.
