I've seen a number of specialist doctors about my condition and all they did was say what they wanted to do to me in the way of invasive procedures. None of them explained what was going on in my body and they completely ignored the infection that was causing the problem. Consequently I’ve had over two years of hell worrying that I may have a very serious condition. Only Doctor Hart, in a telephone consultation, took the time and trouble to explain clearly what was going. She listened to and answered my questions enabling me to understand my condition whilst putting my mind at rest. In my view Doctor Hart should be held as an example as to how all doctors should interact with patients. Of course as soon as I put the phone down I realised I had other questions I would like to ask: so this is one area where I think the system could be improved. I would like to have another consultation with Doctor Hart (even if I had to go private)to ask those questions but the system does not allow for this.

After a CT scan which showed I did not have a kidney stone, she wrote a very positive letter giving me the good news and wishing me well. Not at all the cold, professional type of letter which often comes from large establishments who rely on templates to communicate. Very impressed.
