After yet another NHS cancellation and following several bouts of illness I decided to research private alternatives for gallbladder removal. Where on earth do you begin I thought? Should I start with location, location, location or, surgeon qualifications, background, cost, timing mmm a myriad of questions to consider? So, internet savvy I began to call hospitals and followed this up with research on surgeons on the internet. At first, it seemed rather daunting but the researcher in me enjoys a challenge. Thus. I sought advice from several organisations dealing with your 'innards' and checked the background and current research of each individual. The price, well, that was similar and most hospitals gave me the same information although some did repeatedly ring back to see if I had 'made any decisions': I found that rather annoying. The one person who stood out was Sayan Bhattacharya, as when I rang the number, he answered himself, was so professional and attentive and followed it up with a comprehensive email with no pressure whatsoever. It was 4 months before I contacted him again and made an appointment. He was straight to the point, clear, concise, no messing around here and I was swiftly booked in for the operation. The hospital was excellent, all went to plan and my chronically inflamed gallbladder was duly removed. Follow up appointments with the nursing staff were carried out very efficiently and most importantly in a friendly manner. May I extend my gratitude for the swift way the whole procedure was handled and I would not hesitate to recommend Mr Bhattacharya and Highfield Hospital. Kindest regards to all. Bernie Gartside

Dr Bhattacharya from the first meeting was exceptional. He took time to listen and to investigate my symptoms. The Diagnosis was prompt and I requested for the operation to be as soon as feasible, to which Dr Bhattacharya facilitated. This I am very grateful for, as if I had another flare up it could have been very detrimental to my health. This was my first ever surgery and Dr Bhattacharya and his team instantly put me at ease. They were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. It was acknowledged that I was very anxious about the whole procedure. The pre op / surgery & after care was fantastic with continued check ins and I felt fully informed during the whole process. I would highly recommend Dr Bhattacharya and his team, to anyone. My family and I would like to personally thank you!
