I can only write with the utmost regard for Mr Dennis, both for himself and the medical surgery that he conducted. He possesses the most reassuring 'beside manner' combined with excellent communication skills, which will help to put at ease any apprehensive patients. Although I do not consider myself to be a nervous patient, he still made the whole treatment process (THD for internal hemorrhoids) to be as pleasant an experience as it could possibly be. He and his staff even brought my admission date earlier than originally scheduled, by nearly two weeks! From my prospective it is difficult see how the care that I received could have been better. Many thanks both to Mr Dennis and the NHS team at Peterborough City Hospital. From David Simms. 13th May 2017.

Mr Dennis is a truly wonderful and skillful surgeon. He explained everything so carefully, answering my many questions and filling me with confidence in his ability to help me. He took time to reassure me on the day of surgery, and following it, personally telephoned my friend to let them know all was well. That speaks volumes about his approach to the care of his patients. He visited me every day in hospital to check on progress, always smiling and making me feel I was his only patient. He has single-handedly given me the motivation to quit smoking (7 weeks now!) to reduce the risk of surgery in the future. His manner is warm, approachable, reassuring and he cares about the detail. His skill is second to none, and my recovery has been as he expected. I would not wish to to be looked after by anyone else, and as others have noted, Peterborough City Hospital is so lucky to have this gem of a surgeon (as am I). All the colorectal team at PCH should have Centre of Excellence status - I would not have wished to be anywhere else for this procedure and the exceptionally high standard of care I received.

I found Mr Dennis easy to talk to, kind, caring & reassuring - a person who was clear in his advice, willing to listen and discuss concerns, and inspired confidence. His attention to detail preoperatively was invaluable and I could not have received better and more vigilant care from him while in hospital for 10 days. The care I received from him was both professional and excellent in every respect.

As a sufferer of colotis for the best part of 9 years Dr Dennis finally came to my rescue! All medications had failed and the only thing that was working was the dreaded Prednisilone So after the decision of surgery i had a initial meeting with Dr Dennis in Stamford. What a man!!! So reassuring and the calmness of his voice really was a breath of fresh air. His mannerisms were so nice and i really do feel he cares about every single one of his patients. Surgery was a success and just seeing Mr Dennis in the wards for the check ups was brilliant A lovely man but also a very professional man. You are in safe hands with this man and have no need to be scared to your gut (pun intended! dum dum tissshhhh) Thank you again for changing my life for the better God bless

Rob Dennis is my hero! I went to him after my first colorectal surgery (with a different surgeon in Leicester) left me with a horrific scar and two stomas. I explained that I wanted one of the stomas taken down, and he listened to me ramble on for what felt like hours! He talked me through the pros and cons of every possible solution for me, and took into account my concerns about my Crohn's disease potentially flaring up again. He was kind, considerate, patient and understanding. But most importantly, he was one of the rare HCPs who treated me like a person rather than just a patient - he thought about my quality of life. I wasn't just a number on a spreadsheet. I wasn't a statistic. I was a person with her whole life ahead of her, and he took that into consideration. The operation was a success, the new scar is beautiful (can scars be beautiful?!) and I wouldn't hesitate to go back to him if I ever needed further surgery. I highly recommend Rob Dennis and I am forever grateful for what he did for me.
