Mr Dennis is a truly wonderful and skillful surgeon. He explained everything so carefully, answering my many questions and filling me with confidence in his ability to help me. He took time to reassure me on the day of surgery, and following it, personally telephoned my friend to let them know all was well. That speaks volumes about his approach to the care of his patients. He visited me every day in hospital to check on progress, always smiling and making me feel I was his only patient. He has single-handedly given me the motivation to quit smoking (7 weeks now!) to reduce the risk of surgery in the future. His manner is warm, approachable, reassuring and he cares about the detail. His skill is second to none, and my recovery has been as he expected. I would not wish to to be looked after by anyone else, and as others have noted, Peterborough City Hospital is so lucky to have this gem of a surgeon (as am I). All the colorectal team at PCH should have Centre of Excellence status - I would not have wished to be anywhere else for this procedure and the exceptionally high standard of care I received.
