I arrived at UCH hospital on the 23rd September 2017 with severe lower abdominal pain. Having been seen previously at St Mary's hospital just the week before for the same pain & being wrongly diagnosed by their doctor for a lung infection without any further investigations. I was extremely fortunate to have Mr Abbassi take me on as his patient. Whilst being under his care he requested many different tests to be carried out on me and although my ultra sound scan showed no sign of abnormalities he was extremely adamant to carry out a laparoscopy just to be on the safe side. He wasted no time in doing so and within half hour I was in surgery, which he found I had a burst appendix which I had been carrying around for about week. If it wasn't for Dr Abbassi and his determination then the outcome could have been fatal. I couldn't have asked for any better doctor and for sure he is my hero for saving my life. His after care was just as professional as the operation itself. Although he had to remove the burst appendix and clean out my stomach he made sure to not leave me with any large scars.
