Having been referred for post-menopausal bleeding, I had an appointment in the Bedford Hospital urgent Gynaecological unit following ultrasound scans.
I was under the assumption that I was merely obtaining my results. Well....once in there and within minutes I was told that Mr Murhan was going to perform a biopsy.
Mr Murhan explained everything thoroughly, and I was soon in the chair. Painful is an understatement, however he kept me chatting throughout and then afterwards he explained what was going to happen next. He also made me feel that if I had any issues, in no uncertain terms was I to contact him immediately.
What a gentle, kind, and empathetic soul he is!
Amazing service by the nhs too.
Mr Mahran epitomises the most elite and highest standards of patient care.
I was admitted to Bedford Hospital for a total hysterectomy in late April 2019. With a complex gynaecological history and complications I was very anxious about having this surgery although I knew it would be life changing for me.
However, from my initial appointment right up to completion of my care, Mr Mahran reassured me every step of the way, took a genuine interest in all stages of my recovery and made it his business to check on me and keep constantly updated. His team are also fantastic. He is truly a fantastic surgeon, and gentleman with a genuine care in his patients.
I can truly recommend Mr Mahran to anyone considering their surgeon for Gynaecology surgery. You will be blessed with his wonderful calm manner, his professionalism, his immense expertise, his genuine care, his expert precision as a surgeon ( I was not an easy case as he reminded me!) and his desire to work with you to manage a careful and efficient road to recovery.
Please see Mr Mahran if you require the best. You will understand from the moment you meet him you’re in the safest of hands.
I had a total laparoscopic hysterectomy and oopherectomy 10 days ago, and cannot thank Mr Mahran enough. He looked after me from start to finish, ensured I was looked after before, during and after surgery, abs came to visit 3 times during my 3 day hospital stay to check on my progress. My surgery could have been complicated but he ensured it was minimally invasive and I had full reassurance throughout my treatment leading up to surgery, that I was in good hands. I can not recommend this consultant enough. He knows his stuff and is not pompous about his skills and knowledge at all. A very humble and attentive, caring consultant , not to mention how highly skilled he is. 10 days on, I can barely see my scars! Feel so relieved, especially since he found an additional 6cm fibroid during surgery that the first consultant didn’t see!
Mr Mahran is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met.
He is kind, considerate & the lead in his specialism/profession.
Mr Mahran took the time to listen to my symptoms, considered the options, gave me his view but more importantly he gave me time to think.
I recently had a laparoscopic hysterectomy & I wouldn’t of wanted any other surgeon to do this for me. Mr Mahran & his team were exceptional & the care I received was superb.
What a great consultant! After 12 months of getting fobbed off and getting nowhere in trying to work out why after 2.5years I wasn't getting pregnant, I finally came to see Mr Mahran after being recommended by my sister.
I wanted to know if everything was working down there as it should. With a failed IVF behind me, and only a scan on my ovaries telling me I was ok, I just knew there had to be more that could be checked.
After my initial consultation I believed I had finally found someone who was listening to me. I was booked in for scans the following week and just a few weeks later was booked in for a Laparoscopy to see if my tubes were blocked or there was any signs of anything untoward.
The Manor Hospital in Biddenham was great. All the nurses took fantastic care of me. Mr Mahran came and explained the full procedure before the operation and answered all of my questions putting me at ease.
Directly following the operation as I came around Mr Mahran was there to 'welcome me back' and to tell me he had already spoken Worf my husband who sends his love- nice to hear when waking up from an op!
An hour or so afterwards when recovering in my room Mr Mahran stopped in to check on me before leaving for home and assured me he would see me first thing in the morning.
At 10pm at night Mr Mahran phoned into the hospital to check with the nurses that I was still recovering well - what great service. I felt truly taken care of.
True to his word the next morning at 8am Mr Mahran was back by my bedside to explain that one of my tubes had not been free flowing and that I had endometriosis strangling the other tube. This was all removed and cleared out and tubes flushed through. I am now rapidly approaching 40 and this is the first time in the whole 2.5years of trying to conceive that I now feel my body is ready and able.
If only other consultants and Doctors's I have seen along the way took notice of what I aaa saying and checked for this things earlier.
I can't recommend Mr Mahran enough. He is a true gentleman, a genuinely nice guy and an incredible surgeon. My incision wounds are disappearing by the day. A very neat job.
Couldn't be happier - thank you!
