Firstly I would like to state we have as a family suffered the loss of a daughter and father due to hospital blunders - not I must point out at this hospital, as you can imagine we were extremely anxious following the diagnoses of our mother with a diaphamatic hernia with a great many complications. However we could not be more happier with the outcome, our mother feels like a new person and 8 weeks after the operation we had the opportunity to thank Mr Al-Rashedy in person. We are so impressed with his expertise and skill knowing the difficulties of this operation and of his staff with the help and support they gave us We are also impressed with the high hygiene levels on Cleves ward with all the staff showing a very professional attitude to patient care. We understand the difficulties faced by all staff currently working within the NHS today having had the misfortune to experience the terrible loss of a loved one's through a hospital blunder. But we can say we are eternally grateful for our mother being under the care of both Mr Al-Rashedy but also the staff of Watford General. Keep up the good work. The advice I would give is that the NHS needs a standard of care which covers every aspect of the patient experience and from our experience not all consultants or hospitals operate to the same high standards

Mr Al-Rashedy did extra work during the surgery that my GP had said that he would not be able to. He reassured me before surgery commenced with his calm reassuring manner. 9 weeks after surgery he explained in great detail exactly what he had done. I found this very interesting as well.

Mr Mohammed Al-Rashedy was very informative of my husband's illness and put us both at ease when explaining the problem and answered our questions in a way that we could understand.
