I feel I was very fortunate to have been under the care of Mr Deguara. I was a very nervous patient and scared of having gall bladder surgery but Mr Deguara was very understanding about how I felt and treated me with the utmost kindness and patience. He was very professional and calm in his manner and explained the procedure clearly to me, what to expect and how I would feel afterwards. But most importantly, he also gave me time - he was approachable, listened to my concerns and fully answered all my questions when I was clearly anxious about deciding whether to proceed with the surgery. He did not make me feel that I was being awkward and I felt very reassured by him. He also must have passed on my concerns about the surgery to the anaesthetist, Mr Kumar, because he was very good with me as well. I feel I was cared for very well and a lot of my fears were alleviated because of the way Mr Deguara looked after me. I'm pleased to say that the surgery went ahead without any problems and I have made a good recovery. Thank you very much.

I saw Jean Deguara on a referral from my insurance company for treatment of gallstones. Within 2 weeks he'd performed the laparoscopic cholecystectomy and in 2 weeks since that am well on the road to recovery. Efficient professionalism at every juncture of the treatment process. 10/10 would recommend.

I don't think the care given by this doctor could have been improved: my mother was given a very clear and balanced explanation of her condition and her options, the family's opinions were sought and the letters outlining treatment were very clear. Additionally, the doctor was happy to explain his thoughts on the pros and cons of each potential treatment route. At my mother's post-op check-up, the doctor made a careful and well explained examination and informed my mother of any future health associated risks to look out for. He listened very attentively to my mother's thoughts and was able to be very reassuring but honest.

I was referred to Mr Deguara shortly after being taken ill whilst away from home and had to be admitted to a hospital in Yorkshire and then, on discharge, arrange via my GP to be seen by a consultant for the recommended surgery. I was a little anxious that all would go smoothly! I need not have worried, Mr Deguara was friendly and approachable and had all the information about my illness to hand but also let me briefly relate what had happened and how I was health wise feeling currently. Following an examination he explained about the necessary surgery. I left feeling very reassured. All went well on the due surgery day, no cancellation, and I was very satisfied with both Mr Deguara, his team and all the staff at Kingston hospital. A big thank you!
