I had left side stapes surgery on 15th August 2023 which was carried out by Mr Bhav Patel at The Royal National ENT Hospital, London. I was diagnosed in 2011 and managed my condition with hearing aids. My hearing steadily declined and I could no longer hear in my left ear. I had researched surgery but I was so worried about it and the risk involved, but I can honestly say I needn't have worried. Mr Patel came to see me before surgery, he discussed every step of the procedure with me and listened to my concerns. His manner was so calm which reassured me that I was in very capable hands. My surgery was done under sedation and 40 minutes later I was on the recovery ward! Mr Patel came and told me everything had gone well. I returned 2 weeks later to have the packing removed and could hear for the first time in years! The care I received was amazing and I can't thank Mr Patel enough for his kindness, skill and professionalism and I certainly won't be worrying about my right ear surgery, when the time comes.

I’m 37 years old and had problems with my here since childhood, especially on the right side. It was really struggling to me to have conversations with people especially in my office. After consultation with Dr Bhav and several hearing tests we decided to have stapes surgery. The operation itself was very smooth without any issues. Thea ear was blocked during the first week after operation, but after it has been improved a lot. There are risks related to this type of operation which were informed by Dr Bhav, but I decided to have this operation which I’m not regret at all. Highly recommend Dr Bhav.

Although I was discouraged by a different MHS hospital for undergoing the procedure many years earlier, now I am very glad I went through with it. It has definitely changed my life. Hearing aids were causing a lot of problems for me over the years and I glad to be rid if them. The surgery went great, the staff are excellent. Noticed my hearing improving after the packaging was removed and it has been improving since. The hearing showed great results. Let's hope it stays like this forever.
