I had stapes for my left ear, and also have a background of Ménière’s disease. I was a bit skeptical of having the op as I had lived with the hearing loss for so long, but weighing up the risks versus the benefits, it was the right decision. The surgery itself was very easy and done under local with some sedation. I didn’t feel anything during the operation and it was over in 30 minutes. The post op care was fantastic and I was able to go home within a few hours. After my first visit to Mr Patel after the op, my hearing had improved significantly and on the second visit, 6 weeks later, it had improved further, with the hearing gap between the two ears almost negligible. I would absolutely recommend Mr Patel, he was fantastic before, during and after the op and has done a brilliant job improving my hearing in my left ear. My only regret is that I didn’t do it earlier.

I had a function Septorhinoplasty for a longstanding blocked nose on the right. Breathing had been awful, made exercise and sleeping difficult. Now find its much better. Cosmetically barely anything has changed, neither my friends or family could tell anything had been done.

I had a bony lump (osteoma) removed from my left ear, under local anaesthetic in the office. I have always had problem with earwax and having a lump growing in my left ear didn’t Help the situation. My left ear was always blocking up with wax. Having the lump remove will improve my earing. Having the lump removed under local anaesthetic by the team at parkroyal was the best decision i could have made. The team explained the procedure and and putting me at ease allowing me to relax. I thank the team for helping me to live a more comfortable life now.

I saw Mr Bhavesh Patel initially at OSD Healthcare, then at OneWelbeck. After initial consultation, I decided to get Stapedotomy done. The surgery went very well and 2 weeks post-op I am pleased with the results. I was told that my hearing will calibrate and get even better soon!

My right ear’s hearing was quite bad before the operation. I am so glad that I opted for this procedure. My hearing is a lot better now. The operation itself did not involve any outside incision. The only downside was the recovery period. I felt somewhat dizzy for several days. As I was sedated, I felt really bad in the initial two to three days. I think from day 7 on wards, I felt a lot better. The other symptom was a headache which also lasted for around a week. However, I would say that this was genuinely a great trade off. I would highly recommend people who have fenestral otosclerosis to go for this operation. Dr Patel seems to have divine precision, so you are definitely in good hands! He is also a very good listener, so if you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to ask him any questions.
