15th November 2023

2023-11-09 - Park Hospital Form - question, "Do you trust this Doctor ?" Mister Benjamin Bloch is a gifted Surgeon, and do I trust him ? - - without a doubt I feel quite emotional writing this as I was once again, touched by Mister Bloch and his friendly professionalism, Surgical skills, no-nonsense confidence, knowledge and expertise - His wonderful head of wavy hair also deserves a mention. 6 days ago, on the 9th.November 2023, the good gentleman replaced my second hip. Beginning to end, from entering the Hospital very scared, to the super friendly considerate Porter escorting me to our Vehicle I only have praise to write home about. No matter the patient, no matter their job, profession, enormous wealth or lack of, once an arm is threaded into that hospital gown we are on the same level, totally reliant on Hospital Staff and there are some seriously good nursing staff at the Park Hospital. Day after the operation, probably due to exhaustion, I suffered from hours of overnight ghastly nausea with pain off the scale when attempting to stand. As soon as I mentioned the problem, a male and female nurse took firm control, grasped and fettled that nettle with appropriate medication and within no time I was sitting up and confident enough to tackle test a few stairs which in turn would enable me to be allowed home. Apart from Mister Bloch, there are probably more of his Team, those out of view and I offer my humble thanks, and of course, the two gentleman Anaesthetists, one chap gently holding my shoulders giving me great comfort chatting about Muffin my Parrot, whilst the other soothingly guided me through whilst administering spinal anaesthetic. It would be an honour to shake their hand. To sum it up, this Surgeon is special, in an ideal World if cloning were possible, there should be a Benjamin Bloch, Orthopaedic Surgeon in every Hospital. All in all, another good job well done and I thank all who took care of me. 19th January 2023

After several years of horrid debilitating pain, affecting my health all round, I had the good fortune of Mister Benjamin Bloch replacing my misbehaving hip on the 8th December 2022 at the Park Hospital. I admit to being quite terrified on the day but the good Gentleman, along with his excellent Team did a wonderful job. It is now 19th January and I am walking unaided, and It's already on the cards for the second operation. Mister Bloch oozes confidence and is a very likeable Fellow with multiple talents, one, albeit minor, but important to me, his ability to put a nervous patient at ease. Re- the Hospital- -There is one small issue with the Park Hospital, it would be lovely to see more choice for Vegans on the Menu, say for instance long life soya in the waiting room alongside the Cows Milk. All is very limited-although, thanks to Mister Blochs Surgery Skills, my stay was very brief so in no position to make a fuss. This experience has been life changing and I will be eternally grateful to a true Gentleman. Lili Lettice Leatherby Wollaton

I was told many years ago that I needed a new hip but fear of the operation prevented me from doing anything about it. I was also given misleading information about the benefits so I decided it wasn’t worth the risk. Eventually, my health deteriorated and I was left with no choice. After careful consideration I booked a consultation with Mr Bloch. His profile and list of qualification gave me confidence that he knew what he was doing, but meeting him in person was a breath of fresh air! When I met Mr Bloch I immediately felt at ease. He explained the operation in simple terms, including benefits and possible complications. I was able to ask as many questions as I needed. A few days before the operation the nerves were playing havoc, but on the day Mr Bloch and his calm reassurance once more made me feel calmer. I felt I was in good hands. Aftercare was also excellent. Throughout, Mr Bloch answered all of my questions in a simple, straightforward manner. I was very nervous but he was calm and reassuring. Mr Bloch took me from frightened to thrilled and I am pleased that I choose him as my surgeon and would not hesitate to recommend him to others. I can now walk properly, tie my own shoe laces and live a normal life, pain free, for the first time in years. Mr Bloch gave excellent care and it is difficult to suggest how to improve on that.

Explained fully the procedure I would be undertaking in a clear concise manner. Answered any questions I had. Informed me that there would be discomfort for several weeks after the op but would be worth it in the end - which after only 8 weeks I am already reaping the benefit of my new knee.

Mr Bloch replaced my left hip six weeks ago and my right hip four months before that. I am now experiencing a level of (pain-free) mobility I haven’t known for over ten years. Recovery from the second operation was even faster than from the first; I was walking unaided after just eight days. I feel unqualified gratitude towards Mr Bloch and his team who have dramatically improved my quality of life. I would highly recommend the procedure, and surgical team, to anyone considering total hip replacement.
