I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Mr Agrawal. His warm, courteous manner immediately put my daughter at ease. He was patient and took care to explain everything. I have no doubt that, had further treatment been necessary, we would have been in extremely professional hands. I must also mention Mr Agrawal's PA, Charli, and the nurse in the consulting room, who were equally friendly and reassuring. Thank you all.

Mr Agrawal is professional yet friendly, he hears your concerns and questions and will give you his opinion and leave you to make your own decision.Whilst having my treatment I felt very well looked after, I continue to feel this way in my follow up meetings. He does not indulge me and has at times challenged my thinking about my treatment which I think has been very important. My mastectomy scar is neat and well contoured, this was vital in me bouncing back from the operation emotionally. I wholeheartedly recommend him.

Mr Agrawal was recommended to me by a friend who had seen him. My referral from NHS to private was extremely fast and efficient. I was seen within 48 hours of the referral. Mr Agrawal was an excellent mix of empathy and matter of fact. He was reassuring on the day of my surgery. A week later he said I was cancer free. I could have kissed him! I know he will keep an excellent eye on me for 10 years and whilst I would rather not have to see him again (in the nicest possible way) I am pleased I'm in his capable hands. It also has to be said he has a great team in his practise manager and breast care nurse.

Dr Agrawal is an excellent professional practitioner. He is thoughtful and aware, reassuring and friendly. He is knowledgeable, supportive and most importantly kind. Throughout my entire journey he has explained the options and helped me make informed decisions alongside him. I am very pleased with my physical outcome from my breast surgery and his skill and care has helped me recover mentally through my cancer diagnosis and treatment. I highly recommend Dr Agrawal as a highly skilled surgeon but also as a kind and caring person. I am very grateful that he is my doctor.

Given the circumstances, I felt very lucky to be in Mr Agrawal's care. From the very first appointment, his approach was honest but more importantly incredibly reassuring, and I genuinely believed he would help and guide me through my breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. The surgery went as expected and because of the lump's location (towards my armpit), Mr Agrawal was able to remove the lump and sentinel node with just one incision - the scar has healed beautifully. Special shout out also to Gwynedd (breast cancer nurse) and Charlie (Mr Agrawal's PA) for their support and efficiency.

Profile

As a fully trained Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon, I carry out regular diagnostic fast track breast clinics and a full range of breast surgery, including sentinel node biopsy with intra-operative analysis, oncoplastic surgery and breast reconstruction. I also have a special interest in and undertake surgery for skin cancer.

I graduated from the London Hospital Medical College, University of London. My general surgical training was based around several centres of excellence in managing breast diseases, including The Royal Marsden Hospital where I developed oncoplastic techniques to optimise the cosmetic outcome of breast surgery.

I have always been interested in cancer surgery, and as part of my higher surgical training at the University College London, I was awarded a master's degree for my research into Gene Therapy for the prevention and treatment of cancer.

In 2007 I was appointed Consultant Surgeon at Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust. I have been the Clinical Lead/Head of department for the Breast and Endocrine Surgery and Surgical Oncology department for Portsmouth for over 10 years. I have also chaired and lead the Breast Multidisciplinary Team at Queen Alexandra Hospital for over 7 years.
I am the Surgical Lead for breast screening cancers and also the Joint Regional Lead for breast cancer for Wessex. I am the Lead Trainer for the Portsmouth National Oncoplastic Fellowship Program and have helped many trainees develop their skills for their consultant career.
