I had a cataract surgery with Dr Zia recently and I am very pleased with the outcome. He is a very professional doctor with lots of patience. What I like most is that Dr Zia explains the diagnosis and treatment in simple but clear words so that a person like me without knowing lots of medical terms can well understand. He welcomes every question that we ask and answers us with his professional knowledge. Like this time, he explained my surgery in much details that I got no surprises before, during and after the surgery. I had peace in mind in the whole process. Now, my right eye has normal sight as expected! Thank you Dr Zia! I will surely recommend him to my relatives and friends.

I was introduced to Dr.Zia Carrim by word of mouth. My visit to his Eye Clinic in Port Louis was a real pleasurable experience. I was suffering from cataract in both eyes and wanted to get rid of blurred vision. The diagnostic session was conducted by his associates in a very professional manner. I was impressed by the range of sophisticated machines utilized for the purpose. But the best part of it all was the actual meeting with Dr. Zia. He displayed a perfect command of his communication skills. First he exposed to me the details of the diagnosis, then went on to explain the technicalities of the treatment without the medical jargon. He was very precise in his explanations and recommendations. I felt very assured by his mastery of the subject. That was for the technical aspect. But the other side of Dr. Carrim was equally,if not more , impressive. I have never felt so much at home with a doctor ! Soon we were chatting on other topics as if we knew each other for long. His sense of familiarity and comradeship was accompanied by jokes and laughter and it was all so pleasant to be in his company. Later my cataract surgery was done in two phases, one eye at a time , in a private clinic. He chose the right lens for each eye. The surgery was the work of a real professional in full command of his craft. I was so relieved to recover my full sight as if it was new. Thank you very much Dr. Carrim. You were just wonderful ,!!!.as a doctor and as a person. I would highly recommend you to anyone who needs delicate eye treatment.

I managed to get posterior uveitis which starts as a black spot covering part of your vision and can basically make you blind if not treated immediately. I thank it to Dr. Carrim’s long-standing experience which allowed him to immediately make the right assessment of the root cause (toxoplasmosis) at first glance. This enabled us to start the treatment right away in a scenario in which each day counts. The blood tests confirmed his assessment, and the result of the treatment is remarkable. I am excited and thankful about the result and can highly recommend Dr. Carrim. His dedication to his work and personal attention to the patient is remarkable. Admittedly somewhat biased as a German national, I was at ease to see state of the art German technology. The team makes you feel at ease, and I prefer the cozy atmosphere of this praxis to a large hospital. If you have an eye issue, I can say from my own experience you will be in good hands at The Eye Clinic.

I have very poor eyesight in the right eye since childhood(66 years old now) which made me dependent on my left eye only. I recently had reduced vision in the left eye and was quite intolerant of glare and bright light. I had my eyes examined by Dr. Zia Carrim and his team and he discussed the findings (cortical cataract) with me. With his help, I opted for a monofocal implant for intermediate vision which would allow me to be spectacle-free for my day to day tasks. The surgery was successfully carried out resulting in an excellent vision in my left eye. No need to use glasses for the whole day. I must say that I have already recommended Dr. Zia Carrim to relatives as he is very professional , caring and is supported by a dedicated team. DURBARRY, Mamode

I had cataract operation on left eye on March 2020 at 61 years and I had chosen IOL (intraocular lens)for distance.Dr Zia Carrim did a great job ,using advanced techniques ,and l had a clear vision as from 1 meter onwards.My intention this year was to have a similar implant to have a good stereoscopic vision for distance and I’d be using glasses for reading.However Dr Carrim convinced me to go for blended vision where I could at least read at arms length.The resulting vision with both eyes is fantastic and I don’t wear glasses for reading.It is as if I have the vision of my youth ,praise be to God.
