I would blindly recommend Dr Zia as today he is the only Dr in the island trying n helped my dad to see with his one eye where other doctors had malpracticed with the other eye n resulted in complete blindness unfortunately. His family members are so caring (mother) as much as he is as an eye surgeon. I'm thoroughly happy that he has this site where all his patients including family members can express their views here; where I have personally never ever met such a human being as a doctor. Usually it's just a matter of money but here it's value for money. Besides he is a very intuitive doctor where he can really decide what to do next. He is definitely going to make a change in the history of Mauritius n he is the kind of doctor who can specialise in more than one field. My dad has an ongoing treatment which doctor has been very cleared about after his surgery which was of course a bit of a surprise to us lot but given my dad's circumstances I guess it was expected n we r relying on our surgeon to continue the same level care until my dad is in the safe zone. In Mauritius we were told that my dad's cataract wasn't ready where he had already lost an eye n only Dr Zia was willing to do the surgery despite the fact that we had been seeing many surgeons n today 70% of my dad's eye sight has been restored. God bless him n his children who look just as smart as him. Also as a retinologist we were surprised with the kind of blood test and follow up with other doctors that he had suggested as being a long term diabetic, my dad blood sugar wasn't being controlled n being a pacemaker patient we were very much running towards many but the wrong doctors. Moreover after Dr Zia had helped us to discover other reasons why the other eye was lost we took actions as fast as we could n only now his diabetes is under control. What is sad to say most people are getting the wrong treatments n if this particular client of my father didn't recommend Dr Zia ( where we didn't hesitate to consult) I guess my dad's second eye would have been gone within by now. I think he should take over the whole population eye surgeries in his hand as there's same day recovery n my dad could see me n a patch wasn't needed compared to the orthodox way which is still being practiced. Well done doctor n will meet soon again. God bless n really truly I have more to say about u.

My mum was suffering from cataract and glaucoma. Being a skilled medical practitioner, Dr Carrim carried out the cataract surgery with modern surgical procedures and equipment. His qualities and expertise are all we could have hoped for in a medical practitioner. His professionalism is second to none. He gave the best advice on every visit and he also gave insights , detailed information about my mum's issue and the outcome of the treatment which is quite rare among doctors , here in Mauritius. Dr Carrim is always caring, calm and attentive during every visit and knows how to make his patient comfortable and relaxed despite the gravity of the situation or before a surgery. He even takes time to reply to all our late night queries via email. We truly appreciated his efficiency in handling complicated cases and found him to be really knowledgeable. We would highly recommend Dr Carrim to others and we wish him only the best in his endeavours. From Quatre Bornes, Mauritius.

Dr Carrim looked after my wife after she had a sudden bulging of the retina, first diagnosed by another doctor as a retinal detachment. We were in an emergency situation and Dr Carrim was already out of the hospital on his way home when we arrived. However, he was informed about the case by one of his colleagues and he drove back to give the precise diagnosis of an arterial occlusion. He immediately put us into context and made us face the reality. Despite his busy agenda he always tried to fit us in and in spite of this very delicate situation he inspired trust and confidence in how things would probably go from that point. On top of that he continued to dig in to identify the potential root causes of this occlusion in order to prevent that from happening again. His strong links with the research world have been greatly helpful to pull in other specialists' opinions. My wife and I are extremely thankful for his support and care.
