After 10 years crippled by chronic pain, he diagnosed the problem within 5 minutes; a condition I had guessed at myself for years but which no other pain clinic would take seriously. Unfortunately it was too late to cure it but he oversaw pain relief for many years. An incredible doctor with a far better knowledge of spinal structure and problems than any other consultant I saw in all those years. I miss him more than anyone can imagine.
Winston de Mello.
Great Doctor. Listens to me and explains in great detail my situation, what treatment he feels best suited to my problem.
During a number of session I was totally comfortable because I trusted Winston completely.
Now that he has retired from the NHS in Manchester he will be greatly missed by staff and patients.
I wish him well in his retirement. Ron Buck

I want to add my upset at hearing that Dr De Mello has retired. I had a pain management nurse telephone appointment today when I was told of his retirement.
You couldn't wish for a more genuine, sympathetic and capable Dr. I didn't need any injections ,thank goodness, but I did need his understanding, specialist advice and support.
He was a joy to meet and I wish him well in his retirement.

Devastated to learn today that Winston de Mello has retired.
I was in a very bad place when I first met him many years ago.
He was inspirational and he put me on the path to wellness.
Although I will never be totally recovered his physical interventions coupled with strategies for coping have been a life saver to me.
He never failed to listen and to ask about my husband who has multiple health issues.
What a guy. I will miss him. It sounds odd but the way he worked made it a pleasure going seeing him. B. McCormack
