I am the ward manager of one of liver specialist wards in King's College Hospital. I have worked with Dr. Patel for almost 6 years now back to when I was starting as a newly qualified internationally educated nurse. In all those 6 years, Dr. Patel has been consistent in his impeccable work ethics and is and has always been very driven to provide the best care possible to patients. His care is holistic and would not only focus on the medical aspect but ensures all other needs and concerns are addressed such as social, psychological, spiritual, emotional, and mental health in collaboration with the rest of the MDT. He is very organised and detailed in terms of identifying patient's problems and the corresponding plans for it. He expects high standards from everyone in terms of patient care and motivates junior doctors and nurses alike to be the best in their respective professions. The concern that you get from him is genuine and patients often report to us nurses how they like Dr. Patel and how he made them feel as a unique living individual with a life and identity and not just a bed number or a disease. I speak on behalf of the rest of the nursing team that we feel the patients are safe when Dr. Patel is the consultant on rotation. Aside from looking after the patients, he also looks after the welfare of the medical and nursing team. He advocates for everyone and goes out of his way to ensure that everyone is treated with respect. Even though he is a consultant, he's very much approachable to everyone, takes the time to listen to everyone's opinion and concerns and treats every one with high respect and regard. He is also on point in updating patients and family members with the current medical state and where they are in terms of treatment and is very proactive in speaking to them or arranging meetings with family members if needed. I seldom meet a consultant who comes back to review plans and check on patients as often as he does. At the end of the shift, he never fails to thank everyone for their hard work which let's the staff feel valued. Dr. Patel is a role model on what a consultant is and should be.

I feel very lucky to have met Dr Patel. He has been incredibly thoughtful, reassuring and explained everything to me clearly and pasionately. A sense of humour wrapped with an immense amount of respect and professionalism. He spent plenty of time with me, a lot more than he needed to, which was very greatly appreciated. His back up crew are hugely efficient and making an appointment was incredibily easy. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Dr Patel.

Dr. Patel is incredible. Not only has he taken great care of my Fathers health, but also he is lovely to speak with at every appointment. It’s rare to find a doctor that combines such personal touches and care for a patient(and his family) as a person with outstanding quality of medical care. I highly recommend becoming his patient! God Bless Him.
