This doctor demonstrated very good interpersonal skills. He talked through all the procedures and clarified the reasons for doing them throughout the consultation. He discussed the pros and cons of various routes and the various possibilities of diagnoses. He showed a very good level of listening skills and took an holistic approach to me as a patient , not just a set of data and facts, but as an individual. I felt completely at ease, which was so important.

I was very nervous about my procedure today but every member of the team was so kind and supportive, and put me at ease as much as possible. Dr Karunakaran was brilliant; he communicated with me clearly throughout the procedure so I understood what was happening and explained the result thoroughly. I was super impressed with the care received today. Thank you!

Dr Karunakaran clearly explained both my Gastrostomy & Colostomy procedures and the favourable outcomes of both despite my poor preparation for the Colostomy, He answered all my questions including the inane and repeated and with respect to Colostomy advised ways of dealing with my diarrhea issues. He had also familiarised himself with my numerous other issues eg low haemoglobin, iron deficiency, immune system. At no time was I rushed. Constructive suggestions? I think a diagram on say A4 might be useful when discussing the procedures.
