I was referred to Dr Dhanjal after suffering from paroxysmal afib for several years. Although it was reasonably well controlled by flecainide, the associated nausea, bradycardia (48-50bpm) and general fatigue was seriously affecting my quality of life. Also, because of the worry of episodes of afib which usually made me quite ill for 3-4 days, I had become reluctant to commit to booking holidays or visits away from home. On Dr Dhanjal's advice I decided to opt for ablation after he assured me it was now a very straightforward procedure with a good success rate (PV cryo ablation). Having read a number of articles on the internet I did have some reservation about whether I was doing the right thing and wondererd whether the procedure was a bigger deal than I'd been told. I shouldn't have worried, the procedure was quick (only about 1 hour), pain free, and only very slightly uncomfortable. Although I did take things easy for a week after the procedure, I actually felt fine within a couple of hours and had no ill effects. From day one I felt better than I have for years. Initially my resting heart rate had increases to about 80bpm but this settled to a steady healthy 60-65 bpm within about a week. I am now 3 weeks on and feel great - just wished I could have it done 10 years ago! I am 66 and now really looking forward to the rest of my retirement once we are out of lockdown! I can't thank Dr Tarv Dhanjal and his team enough, he has been brilliant throughout and his team looked after me really well on the day.

I was seen by Tarvinder Dhanjal after 3 episodes of atrial fibrillation. He was/is absolutely fantastic in every way, he listened, he put me at ease, he spoke in simple terms and he was always available to talk if I had a question. He recommended cryo ablation which was pretty terrifying but from the moment I stepped into the lab he again made me feel at ease, he explained the procedure and his confidence was infectious. I have today, been given a clean bill of health and Tarv has taken me off all medication. This wonderful doctor/surgeon/consultant has given me my life back! I would not hesitate in recommending Tarvinder Dhanjal for anything heart related. Thank you Tarv

This gentleman is a legend!! I'm currently waiting on the national heart transplant list and my life was very limited to what I could do. When I kept having shocks from my ICD due to my heart going in VT I was sure nothing more could be done and this was it for any life I did have left being mobile. However this dc appeared and gave me back my life better than its ever been with his diagnosis and treatment with a vt ablation. I always was under the assumption that nothing more was possible with my condition but thanks to this man there was. He listened cared and helped me and for that me and my partner are forever grateful. Thank you is not enough.

My daughter was treated by Dr Tarv at Rugby st cross hospital she had an ablation for an increased heart rate which she had for some time and was affecting her everyday living. I just wanted to say a massive thank you for going above and beyond to do her procedure and it’s already been life changing and she’s recovering well, she was there longer than expected due to being a bit more complicated than first thought but all good in the end. Dr Tarv came back to the hospital to let the nurse go home and stayed with us on the ward until it was safe for her to go home which was gone 10pm at night, he truly was a gentleman, down to earth, very chatty and just an all round lovely guy who had time for us and put us all at ease, you really have changed her life I don’t think you realise how much, thanks again we are truly grateful for your kindness and professionalism. I know it’s a procedure you do everyday but we were very worried and you and the staff couldn’t have made us more calm about the whole situation

My wife and I underwent ablation procedures in the same week, she for atrial flutter and I for tachycardia. Throughout the initial consultations and right through the procedures and follow-ups we found Dr.Dhanjal to be professional, caring, confidence-inducing and an excellent communicator . We are grateful for the care we have received from Dr. Dhanjal and his team.

Towards the end of my training I was awarded a two year advanced electrophysiology fellowship at the renowned Henri Mondor Hospital in Paris and was appointed as a Consultant in 2014.

I am trained in all aspects of cardiac arrhythmia management including catheter ablation in particular ablation therapy for atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, supraventricular tachycardia and Wolf-Parkinson-White syndrome, pacemaker/defibrillator implantation, cardiac resynchronisation therapy and left atrial appendage occlusion. My specialist interest is ablation of complex arrhythmias especially atrial fibrillation and life-threatening ventricular tachycardia.

I have presented at several national and international conferences and published numerous scientific papers. I have received several awards and media recognition for my research and clinical work.
