Clearly some patients aren't happy with him but I've found him very good. Takes time to listen. Has given me good advice - sometimes fairly blunt good advice - on my blood pressure.
He's my first choice when I want to see a GP.
I am another patient who was reduced to tears during my recent appointment with Dr Lapa.
I work as a professional in healthcare and I rarely seek GP advice as I have to cancel my own clinics etc.
Dr Lapa appeared dismissive and amused by my symptoms. He asked me what I would like from the appointment rather than taking time to ask me questions. I therefore requested a blood and urine test. I don't expect to have to do the clinical reasoning for the doctor!
I was also insulted when he handed me a depression questionnaire at the end of the appointment as I had become upset due to sheer frustration at his attitude towards me.
This was my first appointment at this surgery and I am not sure whether to change surgeries again. I am going to try another doctor first as I felt the reception and nursing staff and organisation of appointments were good previous to this appointment.
Doctor turned up late never read my notes. He had no idea why I was there I was a bit surprised, concerned and thus disappointed.
I was not expecting someone who is meant to be a professional to conduct themself in this way. The perception I had was that he had better things to do than help me if find out what my situation was. Overall a poor experience and total waste of time.
Dr Lapa may not have the skills of Mother Theresa, but I found him to be both sympathetic and understanding. I have benefitted enormously from his recommendations and intervention.
I went to see Dr Lapa about my elbow he examined me and diagnosed straight away that I had tennis elbow,he gave me options for my treatment but suggested that an injection into my elbow would have a better outcome rather than taking tablets, this was in the morning that afternoon he gave me my injection and it has worked so thank you very much for such speedy treatment.
