A rather abrupt manner .I am generally a well person and rarely need to seek medical advice. On the occassions I do , I would hope to come away feeling reassured even if nothing is found to worry about, otherwise it reduces the inclination to seek advice in future .
Dr Lapa is very approachable, he was very kind and helpful, I have seen him before and he always provides an explanation with his diagnosis.
Saw Dr Lapa for the first time today, I was happy that he listened to my concerns and gave me appropriate advice.
The issue for the surgery is the difficulty in getting an appointment. I redialled the surgery number continually from 8am to 8.35 and then accessed the call waiting for a further 10 mins.
On more then one occasion, Dr Lapa was dismissive and appeared to be fairly unsympathetic during our appointments. I recently visited the surgery with my baby and feel very disappointed in the care we received. Dr Lapa, although not actively rude, was offhand and did not make me feel comfortable in voicing my concerns. In light of media attention regarding the isolation and unhappiness felt by a number of new mums, it seems that doctors should be first to provide understanding and support to a group of people who, although perfectly sensible and educated, are understandably anxious about their young children. Rather than dismissing my questions and worries, I would hope that a doctor would have the compassion to listen and provide advice even if the symptoms displayed do not point to a issue that they deem to be serious.
Dr Lapa really listens and explains everything clearly. I needed an injection in my finger. He gave me the prescription for the injection and told me to make an appointment to have the injection. I went back the following week and Dr Lapa did the injection. He was so good that I didn't feel a thing. I have seen him for other ailments and found him to be sympathetic and helpful.
