I honestly cannot recommend Dr Johnson enough, having read her profile I knew she was going to be the best person to speak to, and she did not disappoint. Dr Johnson spoke to me in a friendly and polite manner, there was not a single point in our discussion where I felt that she was speaking to me in a patronising manner, there wasn't anything in the conversation that I didn't understand, and overall it was such a refreshing session. Being a customer service manager the majority of my life, I am very familiar with good and bad customer service, Dr Johnson simply ticked all the right boxes and then some. Tone of voice, pace of conversation, empathy and clear & concise wording are just four of many positive traits that I experienced with Dr Johnson. I am very much appreciative to Dr Johnson and look forward to starting my treatment course. Thanks again and all the best to you, keep up the great work.

I cannot speak highly enough of Dr Johnson and the care provided to me via Psychiatry UK. Within three working days from booking the appointment I have been seen, diagnosed and offered appropriate intervention/treatment. I was listened to with patience and kindness. I felt confident in Dr Johnson's professionalism, expertise, experience and competence. Thank you.

Really understood my issues that I had detailed and explained the treatment options effectively. Just thankful for having a diagnosis after years of stumbling by.

I cannot sufficiently describe how much I appreciated meeting with Dr Johnson. I was a touch nervous about it beforehand but I need not have been. Her approach was kind, caring and considerate. I finally feel as though somebody understands what I have been going through - that has been a long time coming and I sincerely thank her for that! The whole process of engagement with Dr Johnson has thus far been invaluable and I would not hesitate to recommend her service.

Profile

Dr Johnson is a Consultant Psychiatrist in the field of Neurodevelopmental Disorders & Intellectual Disabilities, namely Autism Spectrum Disorders and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

She has worked in a wide range of services in both the public and private sectors in the UK, including community mental health teams and forensic inpatient settings within both male and female services.

Dr Johnson has expertise in the assessment and management of complex Neuro-developmental disorders such as Autism, ADHD, mental health disorders within the intellectual disabilities and general adult patient group and always works collaboratively with the patient/families and local services for treatment plans.

Dr Johnson is passionate about public awareness to Autism Spectrum Disorders and the need for sensitive, open dialogue around this condition which affects 1/100 people.

She believes that having a diagnosis of ASD can be potentially life changing for the patient as they can start to make sense of their difficulties and can be supported around their understandings to the conditions. Also, it would offer an explanation to any co-conditions often associated with Autism such as depression or anxiety that the patient might be experiencing. As a specialist in this field, Dr Johnson would assist any patient given this diagnosis to support them in the workplace for reasonable adjustments, as per the Autism Act, the first ever disability-specific law in England.

With additional training in Ayurvedic Medicine, a holistic eastern medical system, Dr Johnson offers the practice of Integrative/Preventative Psychiatry – promoting a healthy and balanced mindset.
