Dr Neetu Johnson was recommended to me by a colleague who had recently been diagnosed with ADHD as an adult. I had suspected of my being ADHD for a long while, but in talking to him, this became increasingly apparent. The constant forgetfulness, the impulsivity and inability to focus on simple things get really bad at one point this year, so I decided to book. Making an appointment with a psychiatrist for the first time in my life at 47 was daunting, but Dr Johnson was incredibly kind and put me at ease immediately. Being diagnosed as ADHD has been a bit of a revelation. I hasn't provided me with an excuse, but an explanation to many of the behaviour patterns that have been a permanent fixture in my life since I was a child. I've found Doctor Johnson's, caring, supportive character, and her knowledge of integrative approaches incredibly useful. On that basis, I am delighted to recommend her to anyone in similar circumstances.

Dr Johnson, was standing in for a colleague (which in turn has benefited me) I found speaking to her that she actually understood what I was saying She had taken the time and effort to look at my history, and was extremely honest with me and helped with many of my new ways of working, I would highly recommend to see her, as she has more knowledge than most I have people I have associated with on co-morbid areas of Neurodiversity. At all times I felt I was being spoken to as a friend and not client, I was given clear decisions, so I felt in control of my treatment, and never felt uneasy the whole time. Keep up your amazing work Anita

I chose Dr Neetu because of her profile and her focus towards women's health. I am 47 and have had hormonal issues with my thyroid most of my adult life and at my age, wanted to have someone who not only sympathised as a woman, but also knew more than I did about medication, tolerance etc. I came away feeling as though I was heard, which is powerful in itself. Because of the internet it was difficult at times, but we got through it ok and Dr Neetu's manner was attentive, empathetic and understanding. There was one part of my current situation that was wrong in my report, but I put that down to the break in the internet we had..and doesn't change anything. I came away feeling happy with my diagnosis and the road ahead.

I want to thank Dr Johnson from the depth of my rather erratic brain, I came to her in most difficult time as NHS waiting times for ADHD diagnoses are about 2 years where I live. From the meeting she was incredibly understanding, she read through all of my pre meeting notes and prior to even talking to me she had a great understanding on all things me. We had a genuinely really nice conversation about my history and current environmental situation, and from that she was able to prescribe me the relevant medication to help me, particularly to help me in my job. What I particularly appreciated was because of her Aryuvedic specialisms, which is a passion of mine also, we had a really nice discussion about the more holistic remedies that I can undertake and for me personally that resinates with me better than medication. I definitely picked a Dr that had more in common with myself, this allowed a better connection to be made and I think we established a positive, friendly and professional connection - the process didn't feel very clinical, it just felt... good! Dr Johnson did offer me the medication and simply said they are there for me whenever I need them if I want them, but first to stick with the holistic remedies. In my view this is something I imagine is quite rare from a psychiatrist where mainly the job is to prescribe medication, so for me this firmly established a lot of trust in Dr Johnson and I can confidently say that she is somebody I would happily go back to. Thanks Dr J

Dr Johnson is a Consultant Psychiatrist in the field of Neurodevelopmental Disorders & Intellectual Disabilities, namely Autism Spectrum Disorders and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

She has worked in a wide range of services in both the public and private sectors in the UK, including community mental health teams and forensic inpatient settings within both male and female services.

Also, it would offer an explanation to any co-conditions often associated with Autism such as depression or anxiety that the patient might be experiencing. As a specialist in this field, Dr Johnson would assist any patient given this diagnosis to support them in the workplace for reasonable adjustments, as per the Autism Act, the first ever disability-specific law in England.

With additional training in Ayurvedic Medicine, a holistic eastern medical system, Dr Johnson offers the practice of Integrative/Preventative Psychiatry – promoting a healthy and balanced mindset.
