Dr Vam explained my condition (hyperparathyroidism) to me In a friendly but professional manner, in a way that I understood. Never once once did I feel he had no time for me. I went on to have a parathyroidectomy and he explained what was to be done and how I would be after the operation etc. Would highly recommend him as a doctor and all round decent human being

Dr Vamvakopoulos is a consultant endocrinologist and I have been treated by him since 2021. I have a complex medical and surgical history and Dr Vamvakopoulos came to the first interview having read my notes and thoroughly familiarised himself with my condition/s and previous treatment. He is remarkably thorough and well-informed; I have seen four specialists, in this field, over ten years, all have been good, but Dr Vamvakopoulos is outstanding and has made more difference than any other to my quality of life. His manner is always professional, kind and friendly. He takes care to clearly any changes to drugs/investigations required (or not required). He also addresses the concerns that are most important to me too - whether or not they might be a medical priority. He has demonstrated considerable empathy, whilst staying focussed on what he can do, as my specialist. We are very fortunate to have someone of this calibre still working so hard for the NHS. I wholeheartedly recommend him and do hope we manage to keep him here!

Explained everything perfectly. I was concerned with a possible misdiagnosis, but Dr Joannis was able to clear everything up and help me understand things better. He wasn't in a rush and was able to answer every question I had. I felt completely listen to.

Following the excision of a pituitary macro adenoma Dr Vamvakopoulos has given me excellent after care and continued to monitor my health. He has always been exceptionally patient, thorough and professional and I cannot praise his conduct and expertise high enough. I am VERY satisfied with the treatment and care which he has given me.
