I had several long conversations with Dr Cornish about my son & generally found him pleasant & knowlegeable to deal with. Unfortunately he did seem to either be visiting other facilities or on leave for some of the time when I needed to speak with him, however he always returned my calls asap. I felt that he was as frustrated & constrained by the services and time he could offer, as was I, & I told him how disappointed & upset I was at the manner of my sons discharge, & handover to the MH team charged with my sons continuing care.

The trauma of being sectioned by Glenn Cornish will never leave me. I was treated like a criminal as opposed to someone suffering from distress. Taking me out of the community, away from the safety of my home was the worst thing anyone could have done to me. I am now have to seek psychological help for this. I didn't need to be hospitalised, I needed care and compassion - something you don't recieve in hospitals. I hope the trauma will one day live me, but for now I continue to suffer each and every day. Please think before you do this to more patients.

Dr Cornish gave great care during my admission to Cygnet hospital, and provided advice and guidance to my partner who was particularly affected by my illness due to the distance between hospital and home. Whilst we didn't need to in the end, he offered to speak to my family and children to help explain my illness and understand further what was happening. I am pleased that Dr Cornish was my psychiatrist and am thankful that his contribution helped my speedy recovery.

Excellent care given. With expert listening skills, Glenn Cornish uncovered the best path forward for treatment whilst living on the ward at Cygnet lodge. Respectfully, if I may encourage a suggestion for Glenn; during a tribunal hearing to connect with and communicate directly to patient equally as with Tribunal panel, gaining the trust of service user will be more likely. Glenn meets a service user with a gentle approach; Welcoming them effectively to ward round meetings ensuring service user is comfortable with knowing each member of staff present for the meeting. On many occasions I observed Glenn manage time effectively, ensuring service users received equal opportunities to express their needs.

Unfortunately this Dr misdiagnosed me with psychosis and sectioned me. He did not listen to me. I have since had the psychosis diagnosis retracted and have been diagnosed with autism and finally getting the help I need. I found being hospitalised very traumatic and have been diagnosed with PTSD from Dr Cornish sectioning me against my will. This experience would never have happened if Dr cornish had listened to me and my experiences.
