Dr Lamb was with my son for his first operation. She was wonderful with him and she also put me at ease being a mum!

As a very anxious person Dr Lamb made me feel less anxious and fully at ease listened to my concerns , explained in a way I understood what and how my procedure would be carried out . During my time in recovery she came round to check on my progress . A very and professional Dr who does her profession very proud

Dr Fiona was my assigned Consultant Anaesthetist for an operation I had to have in January 2022. Her manner was exemplary. I had not had general anaesthetic before and was feeling anxious, but Dr Fiona put me at ease and enabled me to feel more confident. She takes her time and is extremely intuitive. She is very kind and caring and a shining example to anyone who wishes to work in a caring profession. As I regained consciousness in the recovery room post op, Dr Fiona was in attendance too, and again demonstrated a caring and thoughtful approach. I cannot speak highly enough of her care, her approach and her interaction. I will forever be grateful for her support and the manner in which she provides it. Dr Fiona sets the bar very high, and if others are able to get anywhere close to this, they will be doing well. Thank you!

Dr Lamb is definitely a 'people person,' which was much appreciated as I was nervous, despite having had general anaesthetics in the past. Her manner was calming and by encouraging me to talk, I too felt calm. By the time she was slowly administering the anaesthetic, I simply drifted off. I believe Dr Lamb's type of people skills should be taught to staff at all levels, as over the years I have met staff who did not seem to know how to engage with patients. When this happens, patients then lose confidence in the medical experience they are about to have. I must add that Dr Lamb and all the staff I met, during my time as a day patient, were positive, caring, cheerful and clearly benefit from working in the day surgery department.
