Profile

Emma graduated from the University of Edinburgh Medical School with honours in 2004. She also achieved an intercalated BSc in Pathology with First Class Honours. Emma obtained her MRCP (UK) in 2007 and went on to complete all her renal training at Imperial College Renal & Transplant Centre. From 2008-2009, Emma was awarded an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowship in renal medicine and from 2009 – 2013, she was funded by Wellcome Trust to complete a PhD in immunology with Professor Philip Ashton-Rickardt. She was awarded her PhD in 2013 from Imperial College London. Emma was awarded her Specialty Certificate in Nephrology from the Royal College of Physicians in 2016 and was appointed Consultant at Imperial College Renal & Transplant Centre in 2017.

Emma is Clinical lead for Renal Young Adult & Transition Care at Imperial. She works closely with paediatric colleagues at St Marys Hospital, Paddington and Great Ormond Street Hospital, London. Emma is a transplant nephrologist but also works as principal clinician for the in-house haemodialysis centre based at Hammersmith Hospital and provides the outreach nephrology service based at West Middlesex University Hospital.

Emma lives in London with her husband and 4 young children.
