I have been a patient of Dr Cairns for over 25 years, from when I was just 18 years old. When I was young he was the best doctor I saw about my kidney failure and he continues to be incredibly supportive. Along with the St Mary’s and Hammersmith Hospital teams, he has seen me through haemodialysis, CAPD and a live transplant from my mother. I highly recommend him.

I have been under the care of Dr Cairns since last summer (ie. 2019); and from the outset I can’t emphasise enough how excellent, rigorous and caring he has been all with aspects of my care. He is asset to this hospital, and the renal community that he serves - in my humble opinion, with distinction. Special mention also to his close colleague and senior renal nurse, Raphael, who himself is similarly a gentleman and often a great help at the time that it’s required - simply wonderful...

Dr Tom Cairns is a fantastic doctor, I have been a kidney patient for 23 years and I am so lucky to have Dr Cairns looking after me and my third kidney transplant. He is kind, empathetic, charming, knowledgeable and so wonderfully reassuring. I cannot recommend him highly enough and feel so confident in the care and advice he is giving me.

I could not have asked for a better doctor. I respect and admire him for his great service to the NHS. I’ve been under his care for the last 5 years and I feel privileged to have him as my doctor. He is kind, compassionate and ofcourse is a pioneer in the field of Nephrology.
