#sayThankYou

Dr. Chandu was amazing and for the first time after a long time I really felt someone really cares. Not only was he very friendly, but did his best to calm my pain and cough down. He has also explained to me everything in details and told me what he will be doing step by step. Whatever he did, it did work and although there is no cure for COVID-19, he did an amazing job. Its very normal for us patients to be anxious about Covid19 and Dr. Chandu actually did respect me for me being anxious he did not say for ones I am.being too anxious, he actually said its okay to be worried and feel this way. I am sure he might have read on my medical notes that I do have a history of anxiety, but he treated me by asking me about my symptoms and did not mention my "anxiety" for ones. I have been to Queens A&E many times in the past, due to an ongoing pain and always felt, that after reading my medical history doctors won't take me seriously. And even stopped going unless it gets very bad. But Dr. Chandu was actually genuinely caring.

My sister in-law was seen by Dr Chandu in A&E at King George Hospital. Because she doesn't speak English very fluent I was there to take care of her and to speak and translate for her. Dr Chandu was the doctor who assisted her condition. From beginning I was impressed by his way of talking without with us. He has got the patience to listen. When you see that someone cares about you it is amazing. Next day I have received a message from Dr Chandu asking how my sister is feeling. I really appreciate Dr Chandu for his professionalism and compassion regarding the patients.

My husband who has many medical issues was taken to King George's hospital on Saturday 4 April after he had a fall at home and cut his head. I was not allowed to accompany him due to the coronavirus. Due to taking blood thinners it was decided that he needed a CT scan. He was also overdue a blood transfusion which was cancelled last month because of the coronavirus. Whilst my husband was at the hospital it was decided to give him the much needed blood transfusion. Dr. Chandu rang me at home and explained the situation and the procedures in place for my husband. He told me that my husband would have the blood transfusion and be discharged the following. Dr. Chandu contacted me the following day to check on Derek's health. Unfortunately at the time, my husband had not arrived home. The doctor enquired the situation from the departure lounge and kept me informed. I was so impressed with the doctor's caring nature and kindness I sent him a photo of Derek when he arrived home. I had to contact the Dr. on Monday as the was a medical issue that I needed to confirm with him. He took the extra time, even though he had finished a long shift at work to explain the medical issue that I needed to act upon with my own GP. Knowing how stretched the NHS is at the present time with the virus I had peace of mind especially on how the Dr. treated me and my husband. I am truly grateful for his professionalism.

I was recently at King George V A&E hospital with severe abdominal pain and nausea related to a new diagnosis of gallstones. Dr Chandu was both competent and caring. He listened to my description of my problems and took action immediately to alleviate my pain and nausea. He returned regularly to review my symptoms and initiated further action when they had not been completely resolved. I thought that his competence and compassion could not be improved on - I feel very grateful that he was there as my doctor on that attendance of A&E.
