I was referred to his pain clinic by my gp, following chronic costochondritis and general chronic pain. This man made me cry with how blunt and uncaring he was towards me, I explained my history, why I use a wheelchair, what was bothering me, and he told me i’m in pain because i’m using a wheelchair, to exercise more (I have a condition that makes exercise very dangerous) and all the typical things a bad doctor will tell someone with multiple chronic illnesses. I did not feel listened to or understood at all, and he asked a lot of very pointed questions, almost like he was trying to catch me in a lie. I have never experienced such a rude doctor as him. I was sobbing in the car, it took me weeks to recover from that experience with him, he made me feel so ashamed of my illnesses and limitations and just opened up old medical trauma all over again. I will be trying to seek a different clinic in the hopes of finding someone with far more bedside manner.

He listened and understood and responded appropriately in a most friendly manner. The consultation delivered just what I felt was needed. Most grateful; thank you.

A fantastic doctor who was very attentive with very useful advice. He listened to my needs and discussed support in a very holistic person-centred way. He is very honest and personable. Thank you! Lisa Lariccia

I was listened to then he turned on me, saying MRI scans are a waste of time, sent me to a pain group course in P'borough even though I have severe pain due to nerve compression in lower Back. No med's given even when asked for basic Co-Codemol told me to "go to the Pharmacy" even when I am entitled to free NHS prescriptions. I asked for anything, something & he finally refused a sick note, so I left in tears empty-handed! Told my G.P and asked never to see him again so I was re-referred to Lincoln. where I met a wonderful Consultant, who gave me almost everything I required;- pain killers, alternative therapy, Tens machine & his TIME!!! Pls if this man treats you unfairly, asked to be referred away from Stamford.
